Prep Hoops has been working on its new rankings which will launch next week. Lets take a look at some of the latest news from around the Palmetto State.
Dericko Williams (2019) is not back at York Prep (Rock Hill) this season. Williams looks to be at Winston Salem Prep (NC). Williams a Kinston, NC native looks to be playing football also this season. Williams a big-time athlete played on the Grassroots Circuit with Team CP3.
Juwan Perdue picked up a scholarship offer this week from Austin Peay according to Gators Head Coach Bryan Brown. Perdue (2019) 6’6 left-handed forward picked up the offer from Governors Head Coach Matt Figger. Figger is a former University of South Carolina Assistant under Head Coach Frank Martin. The Governors play in the Ohio Valley Conference
Malcolm Wilson (2019) is taking a official visit to Rice University this coming weekend. Wilson 6’11 post player from Ridge View HS plans on visiting Georgetown in the near future. Wilson helped the Blazers win the Class 4A State Championship last March.
Rutger Hoekstra has decided to stay back in Holland this season according to a close source. Hoekstra played his high school career at Anderson Christian.
Darius Boatwright (2019) has transferred to Wilson HS according to Tigers Head Coach Derrick McQueen. Boatwright 6’7 slender-sleek forward had been previously attending Dillon HS. Boatwright averaged 13.7 ppg last season for the Wildcats and helped them get to the Class 3A State Championship Game in his sophomore year. Boatwright played on the Grassroots Circuit with Big Shots South Carolina 17U.
Tre Jackson, Russell Jones and Chase Claxton (pictured on front) all members of Team South Carolina are currently on visits at Winthrop University according to Team South Carolina Assistant Coach Mike Alexander.
Trey Smith (2019) will visit Anderson University (SC) today. Smith a left-handed sharp shooting guard has scored 2,033 points in his career for the Landrum HS Cardinals.
Sean McCabe (2019) has informed Prep Hoops that he will now return to Nation Ford HS for his senior season. McCabe had decided at one-time to reclassify and head to Northside Christian (NC). McCabe played this summer with the Columbia Hoyas after starting with Team Wall SE-Marion 2019 in the spring.
Jasean Morris (2021) has enrolled at Keenan HS according to Raiders Assistant Coach Ryan Norris. Morris played summer basketball with Upward Stars Southeast 2021 on the Grassroots Circuit.
