Palmetto State : Late Summer Signings
Prep Hoops takes a look at some late summer signings in this article from the 2018 class.
Yohannes Utsey will head off to junior college and play at Allegany College in Cumberland, MD this fall. Utsey 6’6 helped the Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS Bruins to a (20-5) season under Head Coach Willie Thomas. Utsey averaged 12.9 ppg and 8.3 rebounds this past season for the Bruins. The Allegany College Trojans finished (25-3) last season under Head Coach Tommie Reams.
Terence Mack will play at Claflin University this season. Mack a guard played his senior season at Trinity-Byrnes in Darlington after starting his career at Hartsville HS. Mack a left-handed guard averaged 14.9 ppg and 4.2 assists this season for the Titans. Mack finished his high school career with 1,267 points.
Uzziah Dawkins and David Miller both plan on attending Franklin Prep Academy (SC) (Post Grad) this coming fall in Clemson, SC. Dawkins and Miller made it known on their respective twitter pages. Dawkins 6’2 guard attended Spartanburg HS where he averaged 16 ppg and 4 rebounds last season for the Vikings. Miller 6’5 attended Broome HS in Spartanburg
Walker Lima has indicated to Prep Hoops that he will be attending Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, VA. this fall. Lima played his high school basketball at Pinewood Prep in Summerville. Lima a shooting guard played this past summer with Palmetto Elite.
Jamal Edmonson (2019) recently ended his recruitment before his season year. Edmonson will play at Francis Marion University (NCAA D2) in Florence, SC. Edmonson will reunite with his high school coach of last season Brad Dobbels. Dobbels this off season left Ashley Ridge HS and is now a assistant coach at Francis Marion University. Edmonson averaged 21.6 ppg and 8.2 rebounds last year for the Swamp Foxes. Edmonson started his career at Stall HS and then attended Northwood Academy before landing at Ashley Ridge HS last season.
