Prep Hoops enjoys covering the Palmetto State and every back road to see players play. Prep Hoops always looks to be finding the that next special player. Lets take a look at some of the Top Players in Class 1-A in this article.
Marlow Gilmore (2019) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler (Neeses) – Prep Hoops Vote for Preseason Player of the Year in Class 1-A. Gilmore was recently offered by Queens University of Charlotte (NCAA D2). Catawba (NC) and Lincoln Memorial have also offered the 6’7 Gilmore.
Darius Taylor (2019) – Hemingway HS – Has converted to QB this Football season / 2 State Championships on the Hardwood
Darius Williams (2019) – Hemingway HS – East Carolina University Football Commit
Desmond Murray (2019) – Williston-Elko HS – Learning to play more on the perimeter this season.
Jerry Tyler (2019) – Ridge Spring-Monetta HS – Can really score the ball for the Trojans
Rasheim Lyde (2019) – Timmonsville HS – Needs to stay focused on and off the floor and football field.
Twanye Butler (2019) – C.E. Murray HS (Greeleyville) – FREAK athlete / jumping jack
Braxton Wedgeworth (2019) – Bethune-Bowman HS – QB for the Mohawks / Jack of all trades guy
Donnell Bowens (2019) – Lowcountry Leadership (Hollywood) – Had a good summer with Port City Stars
Jayden Byrd (2020) – High Point Academy (Spartanburg) – Small school and didn’t play Grassroots basketball this summer.
William Snipes (2020) – Dixie HS (Due West) – “Sniper” from behind the arc / Baseball talent
Kelton Talford (2020) – Great Falls HS – Constant Double-Double guy for the Red Devils
Harold Johnson (2020) – Denmark-Olar HS – Johnson is the leader for the Vikings.
Malik Palmer (2020) – Denmark-Olar HS – Palmer and Johnson will make the engine go for the Vikings this season.
Adonis Davis (2021) – Blackville-Hilda HS – Starting QB for the Hawks / Great athlete / Been on varsity since 8th grade year
A few players that remain unknown to many EXCEPT for Prep Hoops.
Latarian Tyler (2021) – North HS (North)
Tyler is a virtual unknown in the Palmetto State. North HS is actually located in North, SC (YES that is correct). Tyler a left-handed wing was first seen by Prep Hoops last season when he scored 28 points for the Eagles in a victory.
Devon Bristow (2020) – McBee HS
Bristow 6’7 didn’t play AAU this past season. Bristow is a RAW talent for Head coach Patrick Cook and the Panthers. Bristow showed some flashes last season when Prep Hoops was in attendance to watch the small Class 1A school from the Pee Dee.
