#14 JAMAL WEST | ST. FRANCES | PREVIOUS RANK: 18
The arrow for Jamal West‘s stock has been trending up since March, when he led a defensively sound Dunbar Poets squad to the state title. West only showed signs of improvement this summer with Team Thrill on the UAA, and we only see him continuing to improve moving forward.
#31 | CAM BYERS | DULANEY | PREVIOUS RANK: 39
Cam Byers is an intriguing prospect because he has the ability to put the ball in the basket from all three levels with relative ease, and his size gives him an edge in most match-ups. Byers is in line for a breakout junior season, and should see his recruitment expand soon.
#33 | CURTIS JACOBS | MCDONOGH | PREVIOUS RANK: 45
In terms of raw athleticism, Curtis Jacobs is probably top-10 or top-20 in the state regardless of class. Jacobs has improved a lot over the last 6 months, and the scary thing is that he still has room for growth.
#34 | MARTAZ ROBINSON | NEW TOWN | PREVIOUS RANK: 41
Martaz Robinson ran the show all summer for a very good Team BBC 16U squad. The crafty floor general from New Town is making a strong case among the best point guard prospects in the local 2020 class.
#49 | MALCOLM ALEXANDER | BULLIS | PREVIOUS RANK: NR
Malcolm Alexander is a prospect who really caught our eye during Capitol Hoops Summer League with Bullis. He’s around 6-foot-3 and can put the ball in the basket from a few different spots with efficiency. Alexander is certainly a name to track moving forward.
