Louisiana Top 250 Camp: Top 2021 Performers pt. 1
Brock Brown 5’7 G University Lab
Brown has come back recently from injury, but that doesn’t seemed to have slowed down the skill that he is really good at; shooting. Brown is a marksmen from deep, both catch and shoot and off the dribble, and was able to knock down some shots every game. He also sees the floor pretty well.
Bryce Brown 5’8 G University Lab
While Brock is more of the shooter from deep, his twin brother Bryce is more of the scorer. Now that’s not to say that he can’t shoot, but he is a better driver and finisher around the rim. He has solid ball handling ability, and an array of finishing moves around the rim. He plays with some flair that gets him in trouble at times, but when it’s going good, it’s going really good.
Emareyon McDonald 6’1 G Red River
I’m not sure that you will find a much better shooter in the state, let alone in the 2021 class than you will with Emareyon McDonald. He has such a quick release as well, that it’s virtually impossible to alter his shot. He has as high a ceiling as anyone in the state, and works as hard as anyone. I watched him for the first time a year ago, and the difference to today is really astounding.
Camryn Carter 6’2 G East Ascension
This was my first time checking out Carter’s game, and I came away really impressed. He has good size and athleticism for the guard position, and can really score it in bunches when he gets going. He’s a really good shooter from deep, and looks to be another valuable piece for East Ascension to add on the wing for the next few years.
La’Marc Amos 6’5 F David Thibodaux
Amos put on one of the most impressive performances coming from an underclassmen on the wing. He attended camp a year ago, and is really a completely different player from then. Whereas last year, he played scared against elite competition, this offseason playing on the Adidas circuit was big for him. He was the only person I saw all day block a dunk attempt from De’Antray Hughes, which is saying a lot. He also is a much more consistent shooter from the 3 pt line, and I expect within a year is going to have completely made the transition to the wing.
