Kentucky’s Top Inside-Out Duos
Following up yesterday’s article about the top guard duos in Kentucky, here is a look at the best inside-out duos in the state. This list leaves off two of the best post players in the state (Dieonte Miles and Isaiah Cozart) but that’s because we don’t yet know who will be the guards paired with them this season.
Michael Moreno and Bryce Long, Scott County – Moreno is a small forward in college but play mainly in the post in high school and Bryce does a lot of damage from the perimeter as a shooter and slasher. Combined with their guard depth, they’re the favorite to win the state title in March.
David Johnson and Jamil Hardaway, Trinity – Hardaway, like Moreno is more of a wing forward at the next level but plays a lot of post in high school and Johnson is one of the best guards Kentucky has had in recent years. Together they will look to return the Rocks to Rupp Arena this season.
Kenny White and Ksuan Casey, Madisonville-North Hopkins – Kenny is a slashing wing and Ksuan is a traditional back to the basket post player. Together they should get Madisonville into the discussion of top teams in the Second region.
Jordan Graham and Brennan Canada, George Rogers Clark – Graham is one of the top guards in the 2019 class while Canada is a stretch 4 who can score inside and out. After a disappointing loss in the regional semifinals last year, they’ll hope to get to Rupp in March.
Jaden Rogers and Darrius Washington, Fern Creek – The youngest duo on the list, Rogers and Washington are both in the top 10 of our 2021 rankings and have the chemistry you get when kids play ball together year round. Watch for them to make an impact in the 6th region.
Reid Jolly and Drew Wilson, Campbell County – After making a run at Rupp Arena in March, Jolly and Wilson will look to repeat as 10th region champs this year. Jolly is one of the most productive and underrated players in the 2019 class and Wilson has college potential too.
Jachai Walker and Alex Matthews, John Hardin – Matthews averaged a double double as a sophomore without ever having a play run for him last season. Walker is going to be one of the most improved players in Kentucky this season. Look for this duo to push for another 5th region title.
TeAndre Newcomb and Ray Surratt, Lafayette – Newcomb should break out this season after Lafayette lost a lot of production to graduation. Surratt is one of the best pick and pop bigs in the state and continues to improve as a defender.
