July Super Sleepers: 2020 Prospects
Time to dive into some of the Super Sleepers from July! The prospects that don’t usually get the publicity, but quietly helped themselves with their play during the live periods. Here are our 2020 July Super Sleepers!
SF Kayman Hopkins (ET21 Buckeyes)
Hopkins definitely helped himself with his play for the Buckeyes. Bouncy 6’4” forward that is a shot blocking presence.
PF Jack Weber (Illinois Irish)
Weber stands at 6’7” with nice strength. Showed a decent feel around the hoop and passed it well for a big man.
PG Taaj Davis (HIT)
Quick twitched lefty point guard that emerged with his play for HIT on the 16U level. The Aurora Christian guard has good acceleration with the ball.
SG Simon Wilson (Ramey-Jets United)
Wilson is a prospect we have known about for a while, but the Mt. Vernon wing had a solid showing when we saw him on the 16U level. Plus size for position and can really shoot the basketball from three.
SF DeAndre Hagan (Chicago Lockdown)
Hagan is an angular forward that is a plus offensive rebounder who can finish through contact inside. His perimeter shot was what took his game to the next level in July.
PF McCabe Quast (Breakaway)
This high motor four man played well throughout July, but was at his best to close out the summer at Summer Challenge. Scrappy four man that fights on the boards.
PF Connor McCance (Breakaway)
The Oswego 6’8” center was extremely active on the glass playing with toughness around the hoop at Summer Challenge. The thick post also has some decent athleticism and skill around the basket.
PF Josh Preston (Fundamental U)
Preston is one of those players that just consistently grows on you. The undersized 6’4” four man is a junk yard dog that gets offensive rebounds, but also displayed a feel for scoring inside.
SG Gabe Mason (Diversecity)
Mason is a wing that shot the ball well in one of the games we saw him play at Summer Challenge where he connected on quite a few threes from deep.
