July Stock Boosters: 2020 Prospects
What prospects helped themselves the most during the three week July evaluation period? We break down some of the 2020 prospects that saw their stock take a boost with their play during the crucial evaluation period!
SG Collin Woods (All-In Athletics Williams)
Woods is a thin and rangy two guard that has always had the potential and we were just waiting for him to put it together. That came in July as he made some incredible moves with the ball in his hands and shot it with a feathery jumper.
SF Kyndall Davis (All-In Athletics Williams)
Davis was another wing that impressed for AIA. The Bogan transfer has size and strength on the perimeter with the ability to score at all three levels. Like the upside that this wing presents!
SF Jack Holmstrom (Quad City Elite)
Holmstrom was one of my favorite players to track throughout the month. This Rockford Guilford wing wasn’t on our radar heading into the month, but came out of July as a prospect with versatility being able to defend multiple positions as well as hit open shots.
F Marcus Skeete (HIT)
Skeete is a unique player with his build and game. Bigger bodied combo forward that has an inside-outside game. Likes to work from the mid-post in and can occasionally stretch it out to three.
PF Ryan Isaacson (Chicago Lockdown)
Issacson was one of my favorite 2020s to take that next step in July. Hinsdale Central has had a tradition over the years of solid power forwards and he is next. Skilled enough to stretch it out to three, can put it on the deck, and has some athletic pop. Defensively his lateral quickness and length allow him to be a factor.
PG Nate Shockey (Breakaway)
Shockey came up huge during the Summer Challenge with his play for Breakaway. He consistently drilled big shots including carrying his team to a win over D1 Minnesota. Plus shooter from three that is a super competitive kid!
PF Frank Jakubicek (Illinois Wolves)
Liked the growth that we saw in this Cary Grove power forward. He seemed to slim down which allowed him to show off more mobility around the basket. Productive player that rebounds and is efficient with his touches on the block.
SG Sincere Parker (Illinois Stars)
Parker put on a show playing up for the Stars B team in their win over the NY Rens. He was also impressive when we saw him on the 16U level with his smooth scoring as the game seems to come so easy to him.
SF Jason Bergstrom (Wolverines)
Bergstrom closed out the month strong for the Wolverines at Summer Challenge. Jumbo wing with size and handles it well at that size. Threat to score from all three levels. Interesting prospect to track moving forward.
C Chris Conway (ET21 Buckeyes)
Conway is a high upside post that struggled in one game we saw, but turned it around in a major way displaying all the tools that make him a D1 prospect. The Naperville Central big man has skill on the block, can score facing up, and is a major shot blocking presence.
