Jayhawk Finale (The Buckets)
Here are some of the top bucket getters from last weekend’s Jayhawk Finale in Overland Park, KS. These youngsters had the ability to create buckets for themselves.
Avery Taggart 6’4″ T.E.M. Select 17U: Big bodied wing who had a big performance against KC Run GMC with three-level buckets and earned himself a scholarship offer from Southern Illinois, where he gave a commitment.
Lamel Robinson 5’10” Team Rush 17U: Electric quick guard who was a problem with his ability to get to the basket and knock down 3-pointers. Scoring point guard.
Tyem Freeman 6’6″ MO Team Carroll 17U: The Missouri State commit had a 40-point outburst in a big victory over Oklahoma PWP in bracket play. In addition to high-flying dunks and slashing drives, Freeman also knocked down four 3-pointers.
Jamonta Black 6’4″ MO Team Carroll 17U: Smooth wing with good size and the ability to knock down 3-pointers and score on the drive. Missouri State commit.
Zach Harvey 6’4″ KC Run GMC 17U: High level prospect who has very good size, athleticism and the ability to create his own shot at almost any time.
Erick Slack 6’4″ NdaGym 17U: Nice sized wing player who can score at all three levels. Can push the ball with pace for transition buckets or create offense off the dribble.
Admad Louis 6’2″ Marcus Denmon Elite 17U: Scoring point guard who can slash to the basket and did a fine job knocking down 3-pointers throughout the weekend.
Lamontay Daugerty 6’7″ Brad Beal Elite 17U: Versatile combo forward was a matchup problem with is ability to get buckets in the low post, off the drive and from 3-point range. Also converted several transition baskets and dunks.
Rashad McDaniels 5’11” MO Team Carroll 16U: Thick-bodied point guard who is an excellent shot creator with his physical strength and ability to score at different spots on the floor. Can also score in the post.
Ben Palacios 6’5″ Marcus Denmon Elite 16U: Talented young wing who can get buckets off the dribble, hit 3-pointers off the catch and move well without the basketball.
Cade McGaughy 6’4″ Missouri Flight 17U: Long, slender wing player who displayed scoring ability from several spots on the floor. Always moving and always attack with good perimeter shooting ability.
Xavier Sykes 5’6″ MO Team Carroll 16U: Diminutive point guard with excellent quick and electric handles to create shots off the dribble. Also has 3-point range.
Dareon Graham 6’4″ St. Louis Majestics 17U: Good sized wing player with a smooth stroke from 3-point range and the ability to attack the rim, especially on the baseline.
D’Anthony Pennington 6’2″ NdaGym 16U: Slim wing player who has a high-arching 3-pointer that brings rain and buckets. Also has an excellent float game in the lane.
