Intro: Nathan Shockey (2020)
York 2020 point guard Nathan Shockey had the game of his life against D1 Minnesota 16U helping lead his team to a come from behind win against one of the top 16U squads in the country at PrepHoops Summer Challenge. He was a key part of their 15-0 run to close the game. Shockey was lights out from three hitting big shot after big shot. With each one he drilled the momentum continued to swing in favor of his team. Shoots it with a ton of confidence and plays with some swagger. Solid ball handler.
What was it like to beat one of the premier teams in the country?
“It felt great. I knew we had it in us. We had our ups and downs, but I kept fighting and we got the win.”
Shockey led his team to the championship game where they lost in the finals. How would he describe his game?
“I think I take pretty good care of the ball. I shoot it pretty well and like to get others involved.”
The rising junior spoke about his summer with York.
“Really well. We won the Riverside Brookfield Summer League. We played really well without our star player Nick Kosich.”
