Hardwood Classic II (2020/2021 Forwards)
Here is a look at the top Missouri Class of 2020 and 2021 forwards from last weekend’s Hardwood II Classic in Lawrence, KS.
Michael Peake 6’7″ MoKan Elite 16U (KC Northeast)
Very impressed with the size, athleticism and skill set of this young power forward. He is a strong finisher around the basket with tough layups and dunks in traffic. He is also comfortable on the perimeter handling the ball and getting to the basket for buckets. He even had a few coast to coast forays for transition baskets after his own defensive rebounds. He is also a presence around the rim on defense.
Jaylen McDaniel 6’7″ MoKan Elite 15U (Blue Springs South ’21)
One of the top young bigs in the state, Robinson has excellent length and he showcased his athleticism on both ends of the court. When he gets it down low, he’s going to throw down an impressive slam dunk. He has good agility and runs the court very well. He also blocked his share of shots. His upside is pretty high.
Mack Anderson 6’5″ Dominators 16U (SW Livingston ’20)
A Class 1 standout who was very impressive in the two times I watched him. He is strong and athletic and can hold his own around the basket against anybody. He threw down two impressive slam dunks off the dribble in the halfcourt offense. He can score with both hands around the basket and rebound well at both ends. He averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds as a sophomore. One of the top Class 1 bigs in the state.
Grant Stubbs 6’5″ MoKan Select 16U (Liberty ’20)
A hard-working young post player who knows how to get the job done around the basket. He scored 26 points in the game I watched in a victory over Express Elite. He was scoring on post ups in the lane, offensive rebounds and some good cuts without the basketball. He has a big body and he keeps it in motion inside to stay effective. A starter on Liberty’s Final Four team in 2018.
Dylan Brougham 6’7″ MoKan Select 16U (Park Hill South ’20)
A young post player with good size and length, which he uses well on the defensive end with his ability to block and contest shots. He rebounds the ball well and can score when he keeps the ball up. He will be an even bigger factor with added strength.
