Grassroots First Person: Illinois T-Wolves
In our “First Person Grassroots Recap” series we take a look at how the travel team season went for one our state’s programs.
We caught up with Kent Robinson from the Illinois T-Wolves to discuss their 15U team!
Record:
27-14
Accomplishments:
We won one championship this year, finished 2nd Place in three other tournaments. Beating the Oakland Soldiers EYBL team in Las Vegas was big, but I thought the month of May was very big for our group as this was their first time out on the circuit I saw a lot of growth in these young men.
Thoughts on Season/Key Players:
Ashawn Burbridge, Jaiden Lee, Andrew Johnson, Cameron Mallory, Terrance Moncrief for their first year they made adjustments to get better and grow as players. This group will get better also adding 6’ 6 Daine Hanson to this group. I’m looking at very exciting future with this young group of Jaiden Lee, Ashawn Burbridge, Andrew Johnson who continued to have solid play through the month of July. Jaiden Lee continued his hot shooting knocking down 5 three pointers in Cape Girardeau UA tournament. Ashawn Burbridge kept putting up nice numbers in the post area scoring and rebounding. Cameron Mallory had a very explosive tournament in Las Vegas averaging 14 points per game. Terrance Moncrief came up big against the Oakland Soldiers scoring 17pts and 6 assists. What’s exciting about this group on any given game two or three of them can put up numbers that can hurt any team. Very unselfish group of young men
