Five Point Guards and Combos from Southern Jam I
Five Point Guards and Combos from Southern Jam I
Landon Sutton, 6-0 170, High Point Christian, Hoop State Elite 17U
This young man is a very solid point guard, who handles really well and he creates really well for teammates. He also has a deadly outside shooting touch to go with that playmaking ability.
Raishaun Brown, 6-0 175, Asheville Christian, Team Vision NC 17U
This young man is a very quick athlete, who has good acceleration, when changing speeds to get to desired locations. Both his handle and passing ability are good and he’s a good jump shooter, as well, making him hard to guard. Defensively, he pressures the ball really well.
Justin Wright, 6-2 180, Farmville Central HS, Team Loaded NC 16U
This solidly built combo guard takes good care of the ball and changes speeds really well. He’s also a very good perimeter shooter, with range beyond the arc.
Troy Clement, 5-10 175, Asheville HS, Team Vision Elite NC 16U
This little lefty has excellent speed and uses it well, whether to get to good passing angles in half court action, or in the open court, where he eats up space quickly. His jumper was really on in first game that I saw him on this day.
Shakeel Moore, 6-0 175, United Faith Christian, Team Vision NC 16U
This very explosive lefty is in the act of learning the point guard position. In the past, he has been an offensive minded combo guard, because he needed to score for his high school team. Now that he’s transferring to United Faith, he will making the necessary transition to point guard, where his upside is very good. His ability to create for others could make him at least a MM prospect. He’s honing his perimeter shot also, so when when he’s seen next spring, he will be sporting a new game.
