Elijah Cobb Books College Visit
August and September are wonderful gaps in the basketball during which hoopers can finally take recruiting trips.
According to a source, Riverdale High senior Elijah Cobb will fly down and visit Florida College September 13th through the 15th.
Elijah Cobb (PrepHoopsTN #34) ran with Pro One Select Navy 17u in July. The Huntsville-based AAU program featured two Tennessee players in Elijah and Ensworth guard Keyshawn Collier.
Playing with Pro One Select helped Elijah get plenty of minutes and operate a little away from the basket. Unfortunately, it may have impaired his recruiting a touch. College coaches generally follow teams and players in their recruiting regions. Because Pro One Select is relatively young as a program and because they are based in Alabama Elijah Cobb was not frequently observed by Tennessee-based colleges.
Most players of his talents and skill would be D2-MM prospects. Elijah Cobb needs to start pulling in more offers. Remember Riverdale High doesn’t naturally attract college coaches to their games, so AAU and the elite camp season are imperative for Cobb’s recruitment.
This winter Riverdale High will have five returning starters and all five could play college basketball. Ideally, four of them will get a chance. NOTE: Brayden Siren verbally committed to Middle Tennessee for baseball.
Tennessee Flavor
Surprisingly, Florida College boasts two Tennessee-based hoopers on their latest roster. North Greene High School guard Andy Stevens recently enrolled and Brad Allen transferred in from Freed-Hardeman University.
You might remeber Brad Allen from Clarksville’s Rossview High back in 2015-2016. He redshirted at Austin Peay in 2017-2018.
Brad Allen veraged 3.7 points and 2 rebounds per game in 13 minutes per contest as a freshman at Freed-Hardeman University.
