East NC Fab 40 Camp: Where are they now?
We have covered the Fab 40 Camp the past few years and this year was one of the better years competitive wise and talent wise. Over the past few months we have been asked about where certain players are headed for college so over the next few days we will update you about where they are going and what are some of the things that they bring to a college program.
Mount Zion Forward Augustine Ominu is heading to Johnson C Smith University, the big man is a beast on the boards and can finishing inside the paint. He steps on to campus with a college ready upper body so we are fully expecting him to have success early on.
Western Alamance HS G/F Tre Harvey is headed to Saint Andrews University, Harvey was the camp MVP of Fab 40 and brings a nice amount of versatility to the court. He can score the ball at a very high level and defends multiple positions well, don’t be shocked to see Harvey in the running for Conference Rookie Of The Year honors.
Wayne Christian Guard Darrian Oates will be doing a year of prep school at Moravian Prep, Oates has the ability to score the ball at a high level and will use this extra year to turn more heads and attempt to pick up some more scholarship offers.
Northside HS Forward Demetrius Jones was a player that excelled on both the basketball court and football field, he took the court at Fab 40 and played at a very high level. However he decided to take his talents to the football field and is working his way up the ladder at Charleston Southern.
Clinton HS Wing Dewan Lesane is headed to UNC-P, we watched him closely over this past year and were impressed with how much energy he plays with. His athletic ability is another attribute about him that we love we feel it will translate to the next level rather quickly.
Westover HS F/C Kenny Scott is a Pitt CC Bulldog, he was a player that developed well over the past year and a large amount of credit has to go to the Westover HS staff. He will only get better during his time at Pitt CC and there is no doubt in our mind that he will be a scholarship guy when its time for him to go to a four year university.
