Dayton’s Under the Radar Prospects

Marcus Wood (2020) Greenville- Wood was ranked in our 2017 rankings, however dropped in our latest update. Nonetheless, the Green Wave’s point guard is still a name that many in the Dayton area need to know. Although not a consistent scorer, Marcus showed he can be a high scorer at times, dropping 18 against a tough Miamisburg squad last season.
Qurri Tucker (2019) Piqua- Tucker scored double digits in all but 6 games last season and was the 2nd highest scorer for the Indians last season. A proven scorer, Tucker dropped 30 points against Northmont and poured 20 against Fairborn, Sidney, & Troy. Qurri has a decent 3PT shot and we should see him increase his scoring opportunities with the loss of last season’s leading scorer Ben Schmiesing.
Darren Taborn (2020) Sidney- Part of the next wave of talent for the Yellow Jackets, Taborn has a lot of potential and has a great shooting touch. A scrappy guard, he runs the floor extremely well on both ends. With the loss of Andre Gordon, Taborn will have a legitimate shot of being the next big time scorer for the Yellow Jackets.
Jack Smith (2020) Alter- A solid guard for the Knights. Smith can score the ball well and provides Alter with a secondary scoring option behind Connor Bazelak. He only averaged 9 points per game last season, but we expect his numbers to rise next year.
Caleb Scott (2019) Bellbrook- Scott is a very under the radar prospect. With a dagger for a midrange shot, Caleb has lots of potential on the offensive end, especially with Bellbrook losing leading scorer Donnie Crouch from last year. An intriguing prospect that should turn some heads next year.
