Biggest Oklahoma Summer Stock Risers: Part 3
Prep Hoops saw a ton of talent statewide this summer. In this article, we continue a series talking about the biggest summer stock risers from Oklahoma.
Trey Phipps 2020 Oklahoma Run PWP Guard
Phipps was a scoring machine for Oklahoma Run PWP 16U squad. If there was any question as to who is the best pure shooter in the state of Oklahoma, Phipps ended all arguments with his fantastic performance on the Under Armour Circuit. Earlier in the summer, Phipps pledge his commitment to Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane is getting a dynamic scorer thriving in catch and shoot situations. Phipps improved at being able to knock down shots off the dribble as well this summer. When it comes to scoring Phipps without question puts everyone on notice.
JJ White 2021 Pro Skills Oklahoma Point Guard
White really turned up his game this summer making a big push in July with Pro Skills Oklahoma. We have him listed as a Point Guard because that is probably his best projection to the college level, however, he can play at the two for his summer and high school squads. The killer mentality of White is going to take him a long way on the basketball court. White scores the ball best with the ball in his hands creating strong drives to the rim or great opportunities to pull up with his jumper. White is a fierce competitor, which largely separates him from the pack. It will be interesting to see how White progresses over his high school career at Norman North.
Landry Harris 2021 Oklahoma Power Point Guard
Harris has the “IT” factor about his game at the Point. The high basketball IQ of Harris mixed with the chip he plays with at all times makes him tough to slow down. Harris scans the floor well and can put the ball exactly where it needs to go for his teammate’s success. The quickness of Harris allows him to get to the rim with ease. The area Harris has been working to improve is consistency in his jumper. Harris is hard to project at this point it is going to depend on how tall he gets and how much he progresses over the next few years.
Quinten Harvey 2019 Ball 4 Life Forward
Harvey has my respect after what he did this summer on the court. He brought his hard hat playing the five for his team at 6’5. No his position is not going to be the five at the next level, however, it showed off his versatility that he can play the stretch four or on the Wing at the three in college. Harvey knocks down shots consistently from the perimeter. The other intangibles of being able to block shots, rebound, and always playing with a high motor are going to get Harvey recruited. He should have a breakout year at Union this winter. Harvey projects to the NCAA Division II or NAIA level.
Patrick Garrett 2019 Game Changer Hoops Wing
Garrett had a lot of hype surrounding his game entering the summer. To whom much is given much is expected, Garrett followed through having a big summer. On the Wing, Garrett can do so many positive things from gliding to the basket with ease to knocking down jumpers, and do not forget he brings tough defense with his length and athleticism. Garrett has an opportunity to continue to turn heads this winter at John Marshall. He projects to the NCAA Division II or JUCO level.
