2019 Kadin Shedrick breaks down commitment to Virginia
Yesterday, Tony Bennett and his staff added a second pledge to their 2019 class in July breakout player, Kadin Shedrick. Shedrick is a 6’11 power forward that saw his stock totally soar up in the month of July. He is currently ranked 26th in our North Carolina State rankings but should be receiving a boost in the next ranking update. Shedrick will join Virginia in the fall of 2019 and immediately become a rim protector for them and has the ability to stretch and run the floor well, shoot it from deep and has displayed good passing out of the post.
He spoke on his decision to why he decided to commit to Virginia, “UVA is a place where I can develop greatly athletically to become a better player. UVA has a great reputation of developing players very well. I like the coaching staff and I see how I can fit into the style of play.”
When asked about how he will be used in Virginia’s system, he had this to say, “I will be used as a four and a stretch four, they have showed me a lot of clips Anthony Gill and Isaiah Wilkins.”
Now that Kadin has his decision over with, he talked about how he wants to improve, “I am going to try to get stronger and continue to improve my post game.”
UVA fans can expect someone that will totally fit in to replace Mamadi Diakite and Jack Salt and someone that will “do his best to continue the winning tradition that has already been set.”
