2019 Jamir Chaplin Recruitment Update
Atlanta, GA – The 2017-2018 Georgia state champion, 2019 shooting guard Jamir Chaplin, is one of Georgia’s top primary prospects in the 2019 class. After winning Georgia’s class 7A state title last season with Meadowcreek (GA), Chaplin hopped right into AAU season running with Jerry Stackhouse’s Stackhouse Elite (NC) team in the Adidas Gauntlet.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard’s game has grown exceptionally well over the last few months. He holds super athleticsim and is very explosive coming off the ground. Jamir is also one of the best lock down defenders in the nation. He has good size and some what long arms, which help him keep his defenders in front of him on the perimeter. Chaplin has also worked on his offensive skills in the halfcourt offense and has improved on his shooting mechanics.
Jamir holds offers from South Alabama, Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee State, Wofford, South Florida, Charleston, UAB, Rice, Illinois State, and San Diego. “Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and Ole Miss have all expressed interest so far but no scheduled visits yet” per his AAU coach.
The super bouncy guard will be looking to win back to back state championships with his Meadowcreek (GA) squad. Jamir is expected to play a huge role in the Mustangs offense as they lost two key starters from last year’s state championship squad due to graduation.
