When you break down the guard position in the class of 2019, you won’t find many better scorers than James Bishop. The 6-foot-2 southpaw led the UAA in scoring last summer with some explosive performances. This summer was no different as he finished second in scoring (22.8 points per game) and was tied for first with the most points scored in a single game (43). His 28 made threes and 3.5 per game average led the UAA.
Bishops holds 16 offers in total, but has trimmed his list to six. He spoke with Prep Hoops and broke down his decision for each school that still remains in the hunt.
Marquette– “Marquette has been recruiting me for a while. I’ve built a good relationship with staff and I like how they allow their guards to play.”
St. Johns – “I have been talking to them for a while. I like Shamorie Ponds is able to play in that system and showcase his skills.”
LSU– “LSU has been also recruiting me for a while. I think their style of play fits mine and allows their guards the freedom to play their game.”
Colorado– “Kim English was recruiting me when he was at Tulsa so when he went to Colorado we kept that relationship.”
Seton Hall– “I like the way they play. They play through their guards and I think I could possibly be a good fit in their system.”
VCU– “They were like one of the first schools to recruit me so they always held that special place with me. they’ve always stayed in contact with me and have something good going over there.”
