2019: Blue Collar Post
Prep Hoops takes a look at some Blue Collar Post players in the 2019 class.
Dal’mont Gourdine – Garrett Academy (North Charleston)
Gourdine was first scene by Swanny’s Roundball Review when he was a 8th grader playing for North Charleston HS. Gourdine was not seen this summer on the AAU circuit since he might be concentrating on a football career. Gourdine 6’5 is a strong barrel chested kid who can play with his back to the basket. Last summer Gourdine ran the Grassroots circuit with the a local team the Charleston Playmakers but decided not to play this summer.
Seth Rivers – Stall HS (North Charleston)
Rivers 6’7 improved all season long for the Warriors at Stall HS. Rivers led the state in block shots after over 5 blocks per game. Rivers is a decent athlete who knows where is bread is buttered in the paint. Rivers who has great length finished with 149 blocks this past season. Rivers didn’t run on the Grassroots circuit this summer as he decided to work a summer job.
Ziohn Brown – Wilson HS (Florence)
Brown 6’5 should have a big season for the Tigers. Brown really remains active on each side of the floor. Brown rebounds the ball well out of his area and plays a lot bigger than his size. Brown played with the Carolina Wolves 17U this past Grassroots season after starting with Big Shots South Carolina back in April 2018.
Isaiah Pizarro – JL Mann HS (Greenville) (pictured on front)
Pizarro has impressed Prep Hoops the 3 times we have seen him play since April 2018. Pizarro will box out and seal on a regular basis. Pizarro just 6’4 stays in the paint and really works for position in the paint. Pizarro played this Grassroots campaign with the South Carolina Playmakers. Pizarro finished with his left-hand nicely in the paint and isn’t afraid to set a screen.
