Top Wings from the Summer Challenge
Ben Carlson 2020 D1 Minnesota Wing
Carlson is a long Wing with tons of upside to his game. He can score it well from the perimeter or use his ball-handling skills to open up shots. At the next level, Carlson is going to be able to fit in many different offenses with his scoring skills at all three levels. The length of Carlson makes it to where he can get his shot off against just about anyone. Carlson also will fit in perfectly on defense using his length to defend positions 2-4 and can switch on any positions. He has a bright future in the game of basketball.
McCabe Quast 2020 Breakaway Basketball Wing/Forward
Quest is going to probably play some at the 3 and 4 spots in college. He impressed me with his toughness on the floor. On defense, he matched up against 6’9 and 6’10 Wings but did not play as if he were outmatched. The strength of Quast helps him to defend and rebound in the paint. The scoring talents of Quast include shooting the ball from mid-range and driving it strong inside. Quest is going to make a nice small college prospect.
Kerwin Walton 2020 D1 Minnesota Wing
Walton was one of the best athletes in the gym at the Summer Challenge. He did not have his best shooting weekend, but got going the more games he played. Walton drives very effectively and can also slash to the hoop. He is good at finishing in the paint. The size and frame of Walton add to his value. When Walton is hitting shots it is very easy to see why he already holds NCAA Division I High Major offers.
Jason Bergstrom 2020 Wolverines Wing
Bergstrom shot the ball lights out on Saturday adding to his value. On Friday I noticed him for his defense, toughness, and rebounding. When he puts his full game together it is pretty awesome to watch. The other factor in the game of Bergstrom is the leadership he brings to his team. He holds his teammates accountable and does his best to lead by example. He is going to make a good small college 6’5 Wing and could even play some four if needed.
Collin O’Rourke 2020 Breakaway Basketball Wing
O’Rourke shot the ball lights out this weekend from mid-range and three-point land. He made things difficult on the opposing teams putting pressure on them with a stellar showing. The consistency he brings to the table shooting is tough to stop especially considering he is 6’6′. O’Rourke really raised his stock this weekend.
Raimundo Menocal 2019 Hoops4 Health Wing
He scored this weekend by going to his strengths on the offensive end. Menocal got to the basket with slashes, floaters, and off the drive. Menocal has good size around 6’4 at the two Guard spot. I really liked the fact he did not take a bunch of bad shots. Instead, he stuck to what fit him best slashing and getting to the rim for tough finishes.
Donovan Ivory 2019 Wisconsin Blizzard Wing
Ivory makes the list due to all of the intangibles he brought this weekend in his bag of tricks. First, he passed the ball exceptionally well finding his guys in great spots. Secondly, Ivory got to the rim with his long strides with ease. Last but not least he shot the ball well for the most part.
