Top Glue Guys at MHP
Who were the glue guys that did everything their team asked this weekend at Mullen’s High Profile Event and more!
Roman Wilson 2019 KC Pacers Post
Wilson is a versatile force in the paint at 6’9. He gives his team great presence on defense being able to use his athleticism to block and adjust shots. Rebounding is also an area where Wilson cleaned up. Wilson has a bright future on the court. The fact he can do so many positive things to impact the game that do not have to be the glamorous things add to his value. Wilson is going to be one of the top JUCO players in Kansas this year.
Mason Hart 2019 Game Changer Hoops Wing
Hart showed up huge for Game Changer Hoops this weekend with hustle, scoring, rebounding, and defense. Hart gives a little bit of everything to his team. The versatility of him being able to defend 1-5 adds to his value. He seems to always make the right play with the basketball. On top of everything, he is super selfless. Hart is going to be a good NCAA Division II player for someone. He also has a very high ACT score.
Josh Crutchfield 2019 Team Griffin Wing
Crutchfield brings smart basketball play to the court. You can tell he has been around the game at a high level for quite some time. The talents of Crutchfield have improved over the past year. I love how he sticks to his game-winning the 50/50 balls, knocking down corner three-pointers, and many more positive impacts on the game. He does not try to do too much. Crutchfield is going to make a good small college prospect.
Seth Hurd 2019 Oklahoma Run PWP UA Post
Hurd is a four-man or a small ball five guy at the next level. This weekend he showed why he is going to end up at the NCAA Division I level. The heart and toughness he puts out on the floor translate to happy coaches. Hurd is not the tallest or the most athletic but can be counted upon to give his team great work in the paint. The effort he gives plus his skill set have him projected as an NCAA Division I Low Major player.
Tristian Hines 2019 Gym Time Hoops Point Guard
Hines brings his hard hat and goes to work each game. He was called upon to run the offense and get everybody involved. Hines is the type of player that will do anything to help his team win. I love watching his selfless play. He will make a small college program happy.
Hayden Peterson 2019 Oklahoma Run PWP Wing
Peterson gets lost in the shuffle of the loaded Oklahoma Run PWP roster many times. He hits shots from three-point range, hustles, and plays with a very high basketball IQ. Peterson is going to be a steal for the NCAA Division II program that lands his talents. I love the fact Peterson does not have to be the guy to be successful. I feel that by playing with Oklahoma Run PWP as the last guy on the bench, but a contributor nevertheless will help him to be an impact guy at the small college level in his freshman year.
Davante Robinson 2019 Oklahoma Wolfpack Guard
Robinson had a great weekend for Oklahoma Wolfpack giving his squad a little bit of everything. Robinson is one of the prospects in the state flying under the radar and he does so many different things well. He may not do one particular thing great, but does a lot well.
Hunter Staton 2019 Pro Skills Oklahoma Post
Staton was a force down low for Pro Skills Oklahoma taking up great space down low. He impacted things on the defensive end. The best area he excelled in was pulling down rebounds. Staton is going to be a good NCAA Division II prospect.
Samuel Kemp 2019 Kansas Hoggs Post
Kemp rebounded the ball really well for the Kansas Hoggs this weekend. He brought his hard hat and was not afraid of cleaning up the paint. The effort he gave on the controlling what he could by defending and rebounding was to be commended.
Sam Godwin 2020 Team Buddy Buckets Forward
Godwin is the exact player I think of when it comes to “Glue Guys” on a team. As the big man for Team Buddy Buckets, he does whatever is asked of him to help his team win. He rebounded the ball really well. Despite being completely outmatched athletically he brought fantastic defense. Godwin is going to make an NCAA Division II program very pleased when he graduates. I fully expect him to be one of the top D2 players to come out of Oklahoma in the 2020 Class.
Jalen Breath 2020 Oklahoma Run PWP Post
Breath has come a long way since the first time we scouted him. As many big guys deal with he always looked awkward, not comfortable in his own body. It is clear he has grown more into his body and is starting to fill out. Breath fills the role of rebounding and defending for Oklahoma Run PWP. He contributes best on offense in the paint catching great feeds close to the basket for great looks at the hoop. He still is raw in many areas, however, is clearly making progress, which is great to see. The level of Breathe is still to be determined.
Tyreece Frierson 2022 Oklahoma Run PWP Point Guard
Frierson brought a great presence at the Point Guard spot for Oklahoma Run PWP this weekend. He has a good handle that with his quickness allowed him to score by getting to the rim. What makes him a “Glue Guy” is his willingness to set up others over going to get his shot. Frierson can score but is best when he is mixing things up as he did this weekend using his teammates to their peak.
Aiden Walker 2021 Pro Skills Oklahoma Wing
Walker is one of the least flashy players in the in the Oklahoma 2021 Class but is one of the most productive players in the state. Simply put, Walker gets the job done in a variety of ways. For Pro Skills Oklahoma he plays in the paint because his team lacks size. In college, Walker is going to be a Wing, which he will likely make the transition, as he gets older. Pro Skills does a good job playing with him as a Wing on offense showcasing his ability to drive the basketball. The tools Walker is picking up by playing in the paint are toughness, grit, and a great knack for rebounding the basketball. If the ball is up for grabs you can bet on Walker bringing it down or going to the floor for it. The level of Walker is undetermined at this point. One thing is for sure he will be featured at the college level upon graduation.
