Top Floor Generals from MHP
This list is comprised of the top Point Guards that stood out making a difference in how their team ran offense and defense.
Chucky Hepburn 2021 Team Factory Point Guard
Hepburn was a pleasant surprise on Saturday showing off his advanced skill set. The teammates around Hepburn truly are impacted in positive ways with the way he scores, moves the ball, and the intensity he brings each possession. Hepburn already has in-state schools Creighton and Nebraska both recruiting him hard. He is going to be a talent that makes waves for years to come.
Micah Thomas 2019 Oklahoma Run PWP UA Point Guard
Thomas is the steady hand that keeps the engine of PWP running at a high efficient pace. The knowledge of the game projects Thomas a level higher at the next level. He battles non-stop on the court giving his team great play on both ends. The smart defensive plays he makes jarring a ball loose or jumping the passing lanes leading to steals is so valuable. For as many points as he scores, he is just as productive for the offense by running it making the right passes. Thomas is going to be a great get for the Low to Mid Major NCAA Division I program that lands his talents.
Kevin Fulton 2019 Arkansas Wings Point Guard
Fulton was the smallest player in the entire 17U bracket, but was pound for pound one of the most productive players. He plays with tremendous pace with the capability of going blazing fast past defenders. The faster pace he plays at the more effective he is at the Point. Fulton distributes the ball to his teammates great. He is a team, first guy. Out of all the teams I watched Fulton played with one of the best motors all weekend. He is going to be a great get of a small college. The dude makes winning plays.
JD Ray 2019 Team Griffin Point Guard
Ray is flying so far under the radar it is crazy. The selfless play at the Point leads to him going unnoticed a lot of the time. Size will limit Ray to the NCAA Division II level. He will be one of the best small college prospects to come out of Oklahoma next year at the Point. He makes others better by using his quickness and extremely high basketball IQ to get his teammates fantastic looks at the bucket. Ray is the true definition of a Point Guard who makes the players around him hit their top potential. Look past his size and you will find an incredible playmaker.
Alfred Alkannama 2019 Oklahoma Servants Point Guard
Alkannama is one of the biggest under the radar guys in Oklahoma for NAIA Division II programs and JUCOs to take a look at for the next level. The composure and demeanor of Alkannama is exactly what you want in the leader of the team at the Point. He can score the ball effectively off the bounce, but is best at getting every one in the best spots and starting great ball movement. Team success has not been abundant for the Servants this summer, however, many players including Alkannama are showing strong progression. Alkannama is one of the best competitors in Oklahoma.
Justin Hohn 2019 Pentagon Schoolers Point Guard
Hohn plays with an outstanding pace at the Point Guard spot. The versatility he brings being able to do so many positive things on the court adds to his value. He has the skills to stop on a dime or speed up at the drop of a hat. Hohn is an offensive talent due to his scoring and getting others involved regularly. You can trust Hohn to run the offense and make smart plays with the basketball. Height is the biggest concern for Hohn on defense, but he gets around it with great energy around the ball. Hohn projects to the low major level.
Dayten Holman 2020 Oklahoma Run PWP Point Guard
Holman impressed with his ability to make others better around him. The way he can fit passes in tight windows for great looks at the basket is fun to watch. Holman attacked the basket off the dribble opening up scoring opportunities for him and others. This kid has the chance to be an impact guy at the High Major level from day one.
Kobey Stephens 2021 Pro Skills Oklahoma Point Guard
At the Point Stephens brings a dynamic force for Pro Skills Oklahoma. He can do pretty much everything you want a Point Guard to do. If his team needs him to use his killer three-pointer, Stephens provides. If his team needs him to step up and make the right pass, Stephens provides. The motor of Stephens adds to his great skill set. We are not sure of his level in college yet, but he is certainly a name to know.
