Top 2020 Point Guards
The state of Michigan has a lot of talent at guard, but the 2020 class is loaded with point guard depth. Check out some of the top guys.
Jalen Terry (Flint Beecher)
Terry is Prep Hoops’ No. 3 prospect in the state of Michigan for the class of 2020 and rightfully so. He is the total package. The 5-foot-11 point guard has insane bounce and incredible range. He has pro range already and needs to be picked up well beyond the three-point line. He has offers from multiple Division I schools and more should start rolling in soon.
Lorne Bowman (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
Bowman has a very strong handle and uses it to set himself up for pull up jumpers. He has a very smooth and consistent jump shot, which makes his pump fake deadly. He is also a tenacious defender that comes away with a lot of steals. He is ranked as Prep Hoops’ No. 4 prospect in the state of Michigan for the class of 2020.
Wendell Green (Detroit Country Day)
Green is a very good shooter but even better at driving and finishing at the basket. The 5-foot-11 guard is a feisty player that knows how to make a highlight. His handles are impressive and it feels like he can get to the basket whenever he wants. Green is a top 10 player in the state for his class and should start to see offers pouring in.
Ja’Moni Jones (East Kentwood)
Jones is an excellent playmaker that isn’t afraid to pass up a shot for an even better one. He is a great team player that has a good all-around game. He is a very good shooter, but when he drives, he’s nearly impossible to stop because of his soft touch around the rim. I expect him to pick up a bunch of offers this year.
Tyson Acuff (Cass Tech)
Acuff is a very explosive athlete that reminds me a lot of Russell Westbrook. He can knock down outside shots, but he’s at his best when attacking the rim and throwing down monster dunks. He’s a tenacious defender with a big motor that makes you work for everything. He is a big time player that everyone needs to see.
