Top 2020 Forwards
Now that I’ve taken a look at the top point guards and wings of the 2020 class, let’s take a look at some of the best big men.
Isaiah Jackson (Old Redford Academy)
Jackson is the top player in the state of Michigan for the class of 2020, and if you’ve seen him play, you know exactly why. Scouts drool when they see this kid play because of his insane length and athleticism. He is a great shot blocker and he has the handles of a guard. He has a ton of D-1 offers and will collect a lot more this year.
Matt Nicholson (Clarkston)
Nicholson is ranked as the No. 6 player in the state, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by his stats. Clarkston was loaded last season with multiple Division I players, including Foster Loyer (MSU) and Taylor Currie (Wisconsin). His top 10 ranking shows you just how much potential he has. He’s a great shot blocker and very good rebounder. He should have a breakout 2018-19 season.
Aundre Polk (Old Redford Academy)
In case you hadn’t noticed, Old Redford is going to be a scary team next season. Jackson, Polk and Rocket Watts should be able to lead this team to big things. Polk is a phenomenal rebounder that has an endless motor. He is great at using his big body to get good position and he fights for every loose ball. His scrappy mentality is what makes him so great.
Connor Bush (Belleville)
I wasn’t sure if I should put Bush in the wings or forwards article, but I knew I had to get his name in one of them. Bush is one of my favorite players in this class because of his insane athletic ability and toughness. Not many guys are going to beat Bush to the ball, and if they do, he’s going to play sound defense until his team gets it back. I think Bush has D-1 talent.
Ryan Corner (Allendale)
Corner is listed as Prep Hoops No. 23 player in the state for the class of 2020, but he might be the best back to basket player in the class. He knows where to be on the floor and is very good at getting low post position. He is a solid finisher around the basket and he knows how to use his size to grab rebounds. He should have a solid junior season.
