Thursday’s Adidas Summer Championship’s Top Performers
There was no shortage of talent on display during Day 2 of the Adidas Summer Championships. Below are some of the prospects that really stood out.
2020 Dallas Howell | Team Carroll Premier
Howell played a huge part in the two point upset over Compton Magic. He finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds. He was aggressive from the beginning of the game as he was either attacking to the bucket or ready to shoot the ball off the catch. His shooting abilities from all over the court were fully on display. Right now he has only low major offers but I can see him reaching to the mid major level at some point.
2020 Jayden Stone | Team Carroll Premier
Another important aspect to the upset win for Team Carroll over Compton Magic was the 6’3 guard out of Australia. Stone finished with 10 points and was ⅔ behind the arc. He can either play with the ball in his hands or play off the ball and he showed that on Thursday. He has a high basketball iq and is the ultimate team player. We were extremely impressed with his overall game.
2020 Jalen Green | EBO
The number one player in the country for the 2020 class clearly showed why he is deserving of that ranking on Thursday. The rising junior finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. His elite athleticism was shown throughout the game and put on a show dunking the ball. There was simply no stopping the number one prospect in the 2020 class.
2019 Anthony Holland | EBO
Shooter alert! Holland had it going last night as his EBO team beat Team Knight by 5. It was Holland’s shooting that helped spark a big 2nd half run for EBO. Holland was constantly moving without the ball getting open for his teammates to pass it to him.
2019 Sahvir Wheeler | Basketball University
The Texas A&M commit put on one of the best performances that I have seen all summer. He finished with 28 points and dished out 14 assists. He is so quick up and down the court and is going to somehow get by whoever is guarding him. Even though he is only 5’9, that does not stop him at all from attacking the rim.
2020 L.J. Cryer | Basketball University
Cryer was excellent last night finishing with 22 points for Basketball University. He was 4/7 from 3 point range and was one of the top scoring options for his team. He is by far one of the best scorers that I have seen so far in the 2020 class.
2019 Jonathan Salazar | Dream Vision
What a performance from the 6’7 product. He tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds for Dream Vision as they won big last night. He has great size and takes up a lot of space in the post. His efficiency is what really stood shooting 7/10 from the field and ⅗ from deep.
