Threat Hoops Midwest Tuneup (2022 Standouts)
Prep Hoops Missouri spent Sunday afternoon at the Threat Hoops Midwest Tuneup in St. Louis to see some of the top up and coming young talent in the area. There are some very talented Class of 2o22 players coming through the ranks. Here are a few of them:
Luther Burden 5’11” Mathews-Dickey Finest
One of the most impressive young players entering the high school ranks that I’ve seen during the past month. He is an athletic guard who can get buckets in a number of different ways. He’s quick and he can change speeds and directions and get to the basket with ease. He can finish with layups and floaters and he also has 3-point range to boot. He will attend Cardinal Ritter.
Larry Hughes, Jr. 6’0″ LHBA
The son of former CBC, Saint Louis U and NBA standout Larry Hughes, the youngster is a talented guard with nice length and an excellent stroke from 3-point range. He length came in handy on the defensive end, where he registered several steals and blocked shots from behind. He will attend CBC.
Christian Davis 6’1″ Gol1ve
A very skilled an athletic wing player who led his team to the 14U championship. He started off the game with a couple of step-back 3-pointers off the dribble. He is physically strong and has the handles to go along with it, which gives him the ability to create shots and get in the lane through contact. He will attend Christian-O’Fallon.

Dampier Evans 6’3″ Mathews-Dickey Finest
A very athletic combo forward who had a very good game in the 9th/10th grade division championship game with his high motor. He did an excellent job on the offensive glass and made a lot of plays with his sheer activity. His skill set is still a work in progress, but he definitely has a high ceiling. Will attend Bishop DuBourg
