Spring Review Stock Boosters: Colorado Chaos
With it now being July and teams getting back at it, it seems as if the Spring came and went, but not without a bang as several teams impressed in various tournaments both locally and nationally and players showcased their improved skills in that time. Here is a look at a few players out of the Colorado Chaos organization that stepped up to the plate and had boosted their stock in the Spring session.
2019 Players
Levi Dombro
Levi is a point guard out of Grandview that just plays the game the right way. He has hustle, he plays defense and most importantly, he knows how to run a unit. He is a player that makes the right plays and puts him players in positions to succeed. He has a great motor and see’s the court well and when a team goes on a big run, he calms the storm as he’s a patient guard. He’s not a huge scorer, but for what he lacks in scoring, he makes up for in intangibles and maybe that’s why his Grandview team is coming off of a state championship and looks as if they can repeat. It was a great Spring for Levi and July shall be another month that he places his name in as a stock booster.
Michael Poux
Michael is a 6-foot-9 big man that’s only going to get better. He’s raw and with that comes a high ceiling that if he keeps working he’ll get to. He’s an above average rebounder that attacks the glass relentlessly as if it’s in the vicinity, he’s going to make it a point to get after it. He also protects the rebound well and seems to only be getting more comfortable and understanding the type of way he can impact the game on the defensive end. He has some things he can work on, but with his Spring work he is a player that is on the radars and boosted his stock, in July he just has to showcase those things for full games and not just at moments.
2020 Players
Zion Ruckard
This a true point guard that sees the floor and has a great feel for the game. Along with his vision is his ability to get to the rim as easy as any guard in the class. Once he’s there, he’s willing to drop it off to a cutting big man or finish amongst the trees. He has an improving mid-range and floater game that’ll only increase his ability to score once inside the paint. He’s a great perimeter defender that takes pride in limiting the opposing guard from scoring as well and is a player that had a few great showings in the Spring on a 2020 Chaos team that turned heads. He’ll have to call the shots this upcoming year so this July period will be crucial to his development heading into season.
Cole Bott
Cole is a player that has nice length and athleticism with a full motor. He’s a player that’s aggressive on the board and is coming into his own on the offensive end as well. He’s a very capable defender that gives his all and finds himself in the right place to make winning plays. This Spring was about showcasing that he’s a player that could get going with a strong unit and score, defend and mesh into the offense.
2021 Players
Tyler Uyemura
Tyler is a facilitator and a true point guard that understands the game. He has a great feel for the game and his I.Q. makes it easier for others to feed off of. When he’s running the break, others also tend to work harder as they know he’ll get it to them. He makes plays in the open court. He’s a guard that can also knock down the open shot as well. He’s a young player who is raw, but, you’re able to see the ways that he’s improving on his game and he’s seen his stock rise. This will be a critical month for Tyler before season begins.
