Recruiting Report: Kadin Shedrick (2019)
Six-foot-10 forward Kadin Shedrick is one of the hottest names in the country right now as he closes in on double figure scholarship offers from the high major level.
Shedrick averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds out in LA this weekend as he continues to make a claim as one of the top up and coming players in the country. Another group of high major coaches watched Shedrick out in Los Angeles and extended scholarships.
“It’s exciting to see all my hard work that I’ve put in the last two years come together,” Shedrick said about the offers.
In early April, Kadin made a lot of noise with a strong performance at a Big Shots event. Schools look Elon, Wofford, Buffalo, Furman, Appalachian State, and others picked up their interest. Offers came from Buffalo, Old Dominion, Murray State, Elon, Central Connecticut State, and others.
Shortly after Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, and Butler took Sedrick’s recruitment to another level with strong interest followed by an Ole Miss offer. Then Nebraska.
Kadin started to show up on lists of guys ready to break out and then the July period came and many more doors opened. Out in New York City, Arizona State, Creighton, and Xavier liked what they saw so offers were extended. This past weekend with coaches from those schools and others evaluated Shedrick as he scored 14.7 points and 8.2 rebound a game in 26 minutes a contest.
Coach Richard Pitino of Minnesota was impressed extending Kadin an offer. Wake Forest, Georgetown, and Georgia Tech followed with offers as well. Now Kadin heads into the final weeks of the open period with several future opportunities, and an open mind for the next step. He’s also looking for more Garner Road victories.
“My goal this weekend is to win more games and play well enough to help us win,” Shedrick said.
“As for recruiting, I’m going to play out this month to try to perform best for my team and I’ll start evaluating everything in August. I continue to hear from Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Rice, and more.”
“Where I will visit, that’s something I’ll be thinking about in August,” Kadin said. “I’d like to learn about all of my options before making a decision though.”
