Recruiting Report: Henry Coleman III
Henry Coleman III is a four star top 100 level recruit out of Richmond, Virginia ranked among the top 100 players in the nation for the 2020 class. Coleman was offered by Minnesota and Kansas on Saturday.
Coleman has a July schedule of New York City, then Orlando, and he will finish up playing locally in Richmond. “We have to win a Gauntlet championship, the last three years Team Loaded has won two so we have to remain on top,” Henry said.
Henry was recently at the NBPA top 100 camp where he enjoyed instruction from NBA players.
“A lot of hard work where guys really competed and I loved the competition,” Henry said. “Competing with guys that are the same size as you and same potential is humbling. I had Josh Smith and Cody Zeller as coached. Two guys that played at a high level. They had different viewpoints that really helped.”
Bill Self of Kansas and Richard Pitino of Minnesota watched the 6-foot-8 Coleman lead Team Loaded VA over Team Knight 64-59. That evening both Self and Pitino offered Henry a scholarship. Henry has averaged 14 points and seven rebounds in Adidas Gauntlet play this week.
Coleman also has offers from Kansas, LSU, Maryland, Georgetown, NC State, Oklahoma St, TCU, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Penn State among many others.
An offer from Minnesota, it’s just a blessing,” Coleman said Saturday evening. “Minnesota is a great program that’s on the come up and is very underrated. I like Coach Pitino. He’s a young coach that gets players and I watch them on TV and i see how he relates to his players.”
Through four games Coleman has scored on 61 percent of his field goal attempts in New York City. The schools Henry is hearing from the most have been courtside game after game.
“I’m hearing a lot from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, VCU, Florida, and NC State,” Coleman said.
