Recruiting Recap: Jacob Laravia (2019)
One of the hottest names of the month finished off July pulling in three more offers to bring his total to 7 in the span of 20 days or so. The 6’7 forward Jacob Laravia had a great month of July and will now have some visits to take in the coming days and weeks.
Coming off of the first live period at the Adidas Invitational, Laravia picked up a slew of DII offers and an offer from IUPUI. Then, this past weekend in Las Vegas, Gametime-Thomas 2019 was able to make some noise along with Laravia and a whole new set of offers came in.
Bellarmine, Army, and Incarnate Word all sent out offers the the Lawrence Central (IN) standout. They join Indianapolis, Southern Indiana, Hillsdale, and IUPUI.
Laravia burst onto the scene this month after a strong Spring. He’s a long, lean forward with guard handles and a solid jumper. Mechanics are solid but if he can bring up his release point, he could be even better. Add in his stellar rebounding ability and aggressiveness at the rim and he has a ton of upside moving down the line.
Colleges are looking to make some inroads here quick with the emerging 2019 prospect. Jacob likely isn’t close to a commitment based on how quickly this all come into focus but after a set of visits this Fall, he could be more inline for a potential decision this winter or early next year.
