Prospect Spotlight: Davon Robinson (2019)
Davon Robinson calls this the beginning for him.
The 2019 Armwood forward has matured plenty this summer as a stretch four/big man. At 6’6″, 182 lbs., he has the length and speed you want from a starting high school forward.
“My junior year was a big learning experience. Everything was all new to me it was my first time playing actually playing basketball. My confidence grew overnight, I just told myself “I know what I’m capable of, now go Out there and show the World”.
Last season was indeed Robinson’s first and he showed off his rawness of the bench, but he’s starting to figuring it all out now.
This summer, Robinson has played with his high school team in summer league and college camps. He says it has helped with the team chemistry and overall effort level.
No offers have come yet for the rising senior.
Robinson says his quickness, post game, mid-range game, ballhandling, athleticism are his biggest strengths.
He is aiming to improve his defense against smaller guards, his footwork and his overall muscle.
You can see Robinson hitting his stride at times this summer, but he’ll now be tasked with doing that for an entire season. We will see how holds up with a bigger role for an athletic, run the floor team. Robinson could end up as a post-grad candidate so he can get more seasoning if he learns to be serious about the game 100 percent.
