Prospect Profile: Treyden Harris (2019 South Salem HS/Team Fly Williams)
Next season will be one of change for Treyden Harris. The tough 6-foot-3, 215-pound forward played last season for Cascade High School but has suited up for South Salem this summer. This spring he played AAU ball with Team Fly (Williams) and his hope that the month of July will get him some more college exposure and prepare him for playing basketball at the 6A level.
“I had surgery before spring so I came in a little iffy and weak, but they treated me like family,” Harris said of his time with Team Fly in April/May. “I played my hardest. I’m working on my jumping.”
Harris has a rock-solid body that works to his advantage when he’s working down low or driving to the basket. But what makes him extra tough is he has the ability to knock down open threes with his left-handed jumper. The hope is that his diverse skills and his willingness to improve on his overall speed and athleticism will lead to some more college attention.
“I’m still looking right now,” Harris said. “I’m still debating on what I want to do. I’m open to anything really.”
After July, Harris will rejoin his new – but at the same time old – teammates at South Salem for 2018-19. “They’ve been my friends for a long time, so I’ve fit in great,” Harris said. “I just want to win some games.”
