Program Preview: Utah Mountain Stars
June and July can be quite times for basketball if you don’t know where to look. Fortunately, the Utah Jazz Summer League is in town which gives people something to watch. In addition, club basketball can fill the void as well. The Utah Mountain Stars are one of the top club basketball teams in the state. Their program has three solid teams loaded with college basketball prospects. Below is a breakdown of the program.
Utah Mountain Stars 15U
Josiah Ballsteadt 6’1 PG/SG 2021 Wasatch

While Squire did not get the opportunity to have a huge role for Wasatch as a Freshman, when he got in, he did his job. Squire has good length and upside as a youthful prospect.
Fousseyni Traore Fousseyni Traore 6'7" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2021 State UT 6’7 PF 2021 Wasatch Academy
Despite his youth, Traore is already one of the most versatile prospects on one of the top teams in the nation. He can shoot the basketball from anywhere on the floor and has good size. In addition, he is well built and is ready to take huge steps forward. Traore is going to be one of the most sought after prospects in the class of 2021.
Robert Whaley Robert Whaley 6'5" | PF Bountiful | 2021 State UT 6’5 PF 2021 Bountiful
Whaley is poised to be a monster for Bountiful this next year. He has good footwork and is explosive. His strong build mixed with his quickness and ability to finish around the rim make him scary for opposing teams. He has the potential to be a special prospect.
Utah Mountain Stars 16U
Cam Chism 6’2 SG 2020 Bountiful
Chism is one of the best shooters in the state. He can let it fly from anywhere on the court and is not afraid to do it off of screens and off of the dribble. Further, he has improved his ability to finish inside the 3 point line which aids him in being able to get past hard closeouts and still be effective.
Leo Colimerio 6’7 SG/SF 2020 Wasatch Academy
Colimerio is long and athletic. His ability to score the basketball from all 3 levels and create for his teammates makes him one of the most intriguing prospects in this class. He is capable of being an elite on ball defender. His upside is through the roof.

Ethan Langston Ethan Langston 6'3" | CG Bingham | 2020 State UT 6’3 SG/SF 2020 Bingham
Richie Saunders Richie Saunders 6'5" | SG Wasatch Academy | 2020 State #145 Nation UT 6’4 SG/SF 2020 Riverton
Saunders had a lot of success at the varsity level last season due to his ability to make plays. He fills the stat sheet and makes impact plays on both sides of the floor at a high level. Saunders has the potential to be one of the most highly sought after 2020 Utah prospects.
Mady Sissoko Mady Sissoko 6'9" | C Wasatch Academy | 2020 State #39 Nation UT 6’9 PF 2020 Wasatch Academy
Sissoko is the real deal and can impact the game on both sides of the floor as well as any 2020 prospect in Utah. He has a good motor and gets up and down the floor extremely well. Despite being relatively new to the game, he has a good feel for the game. Sissoko is one of the top prospects in the state as well as in the nation.
Tenoa Togiai 6’6 PF 2020 Rigby (ID)
Corbin Zentner Corbin Zentner 6'0" | SF Lone Peak | 2020 State UT 5’9 PG 2020 Wasatch Academy
Zentner is a pass first guard who does a good job of managing the tempo of the game and creating for others. He does not make many mistakes and understands how to put guys in spots where they can be successful.
Utah Mountain Stars 17U
Casey Brown 6’2 PG/SG 2019 Pleasant Grove
Brown provides a consistent shooting threat and a guard who rarely makes mistakes for a team full of talented prospects.
Bernardo De Silva 6’9 PF 2019 Wasatch Academy
De Silva has the highest ceiling of any prospect on this team. He has good footwork on the block and is athletic. He has a good motor and moves well without the basketball. In addition, he protects the rim well and has all of the measurables to be a big time prospect that draws a lot of college interest.
Nate Hansen 6’3 SG 2019 Timpview
Hansen is capable of shooting the basketball from anywhere on the floor. Further, he can do it in an array of ways. He is confident off of the dribble and in catch and shoot situations. His ability to let it fly from anywhere makes him extremely dangerous and keeps the floor spaced.
Cooper Mattson 6’6 SF/PF 2019 Westlake
Mattson brings good length and versatility. While he is capable of scoring on the block and around the rim, he is also capable of being a stretch four. His ability to extend the court and play multiple spots aids this team greatly.
Jared McGregor 6’1 SG 2019 Westlake
McGregor also provides Utah Mountain Stars with a presence who can extend the floor for the team. This team is well built with a dominate 4 who can score in an array of ways. McGregor and the other shooters on this roster keep the floor spaced so that there is the ability for post play and drives.
Christian Rich 6’3 SG 2019 Highland
Rich has good length at the shooting guard spot and can shoot it well as well. In addition to being a knockdown shooter from deep, according to the Mountain Stars website, he has done plenty to in the classroom to ensure that he has the ability to play anywhere at the next level.
Gabe Toombs 6’4 SF 2019 Corner Canyon
Toombs is tough and versatile. He fills up the stat sheet and does a little bit of everything for Corner Canyon and Utah Mountain Stars. Toombs can score from all 3 levels and does all of the little things that teams need in order to be successful.
Hayden Welling 6’9 PF 2019 Corner Canyon
Welling has a decent touch around the rim. In addition, he uses his length well on the glass and on the defensive end of the floor. Welling has good upside and is an intriguing prospect to watch this July.
Kevin Winsor 6’1 SG 2019 Lehi
Winsor finishes well with both hands and is a capable shooter off of the dribble and in catch and shoot situations. He has a quick release and shoots the basketball with a lot of confidence from behind the line.
