Program Preview: Team Harden 16U
Team Harden participates on the gold circuit of the adidas Gauntlet with teams in Arizona and Texas. Currently, Arizona hosts one team, at the 16U level. They have been held in high regards within the state as they might be the best 16U group in Arizona. At the adidas Gauntlet Finale, they are 1-3 with all of their loses being within 10 points against some of the top teams in the nation, including Compton Magic and Dream Vision.

TyTy Washington 6’2 PG 2021 Chavez
Washington was the top performing prospect for Team Harden in the spring. He has a knockdown mid-range jumper that might not be matched by anyone in the state. Defensively, he is a bulldog and gets after opposing guards. Washington is one of the top scoring threats for Team Harden.
Ricardo Sarmiento Ricardo Sarmiento 5'11" | PG Phhoenix Prep | 2021 State AZ 6’0 PG/SG 2021 Chavez
Sarmiento has one of the highest basketball IQs out of any of the prospects on this team. He makes the right decisions with the basketball and plays mistake free. Further, he is a knockdown shooter from three who can pressure the basketball and keep it in front of the defensive end.
Xavier Dusell Xavier Dusell 6'4" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2020 State #299 Nation AZ 6’3 SG 2020

He can shoot the basketball off of the dribble and in catch and shoot situations. Further, he is a good athlete who is explosive around the rim. He has put on more muscle mass and is looking more and more like a strong college level prospect.

Henry has been putting in the work and is seeing the fruit of his labor. He is getting in basketball shape and looking lighter on his feet. He sets good screens, competes for every loose ball, and runs the floor well. Henry is the most physical prospect on the team and is constantly sealing for space.
Nyjeir Andrews Nyjeir Andrews 6'5" | PF Cesar Chavez | 2020 State AZ 6’5 SF 2020 Chavez
While Andrews is listed as a SF, he is primarily a PF at this point. He has improved his game. However, the strongest component of his game at this point is still his rebounding. He has a good motor and competes on the glass at a high level.
Trent Hudgens Trent Hudgens 6'0" | PG Ironwood | 2020 State AZ 6’2 PG 2020 Moon Valley
Hudgens is one of the craftiest guards in the state. He is a more than capable shooter from deep who has a good feel for the game. He makes the right reads and is a skilled passer. At times, he has been the top on ball defender for this group. He is extremely skilled and definitely has a future playing this game after high school.
Ty Harper 6’3 PG/SG 2020
Harper has recently moved to Arizona and has made a name for himself despite not enrolling in a school yet. Even though he has only been here for a short period of time, he is one of the best athletes in the state. He is a constant highlight reel due to his solid handle and elite level vertical. Expect Harper to continue to make a name for himself.
Dominique “Bear” Newsom 5’9 PG 2021 Central
The “Bear”, as many known him in the basketball community, provides this team with a shooting threat from deep who can pressure the basketball at a high level.
Carson Basham Carson Basham 6'10" | C AZ Compass Prep | 2021 State AZ 6’10 C 2021 Sunnyslope
Basham is far from a finished product. However, he is getting more and more athletic. Further, he is competing at a higher level. He has a long and wide body. Further, he has good feet on the block and a soft touch around the rim. As he continues to piece his game together, he could end up being one of the top 2021 prospects in the state and yet another top tier prospect aiding Sunnyslope in some title runs.
