Sunflower Showcase in Shawnee
Starting this Thursday is the Sunflower Showcase in Shawnee, KS it features 15U-17U showcase-style games from Thursday (26th) through Sunday (29th). In-conjunction with the Sunflower Showcase is the RecruitLook Hoops Finale, featuring 15U-17U teams playing bracket-style games to determine a Champion! Both formats take place at between OKUN Fieldhouse and Johnson County Community College.
Three Teams to watch for:
Oklahoma PWP- Oklahoma PWP 16U UAA finished 3rd out of 32 teams & 17U UAA 4th out of 48 teams this past weekend at the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney. 2019 PG Micah Thomas received an offer from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville after a big weekend. 2020 Guard Bryce Thompson received an offer from Minnesota after a big weekend. Lastly 2020 Guard Bryce Thompson received an offer from Wake Forrest after a strong weekend.
16U PSA Cardinals EYBL– PSA held a joint combine with NY Jayhawks last week while some players also played in the Hoop Group Summer Jam. Two players to look out for: 2019 guard James Bouknight picked up a offer from Indiana over the weekend. Tyson Etienne picked up a offer from SLU (Saint Louis University) over the weekend.
Gym Time Hoops Elite Adidas 17U– Gym Time Hoops had a strong weekend at the Mullen High Profile Tourney going 4-2. Class of 2020 Jalin Conyers averaged 15 ppg, 6 rpg for the week. Tyler Pinder class of 2021 averaged 15 ppg, 3 apg, and 2 stpg. Both will look to build upon what they did last week and finish the evaluation weekend strong.
Jayhawk Summer Finale in Overland Park
Starting this Thursday is the Jayhawk Summer Finale in Overland Park, KS it features 15U-17U games from Thursday (26th) through Sunday (29th). Games will be played under one roof at Drive 5 Sports Center.
Three Teams to watch for:
KC Run GMC- KC Run GMC 15U and 17U both won the championships this weekend at the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney. They will look to continue there winning ways this weekend. 2019 Fred Quartlebaum will look to continue his hot showing streak this week. He was one of the top shooters from the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney.
MO Team Carroll Premier- 16U and 17U both had good weekends at the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney with the 16’s losing to tourney champs KC Run GMC. 2019 guard Broc Smith will look to continue his strong play this weekend. He finished with 19 ppg, 5 rpg, 52% from 3 and 85% from the FT line while playing at the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney. 16U guard/forward Cade Berg had a strong showing at the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney with 7.2 ppg, 9.3 rpg, and 2.4 bpg. He will look to finish his strong play this weekend. Lastly 2021 point guard Xavier Skyes had a fantastic weekend at the Mullen’s High Profile Tourney. He averaged 16.7 ppg, 6.2 apg, and 3.8 rpg while playing up this past weekend. He will look to continue his strong play this weekend.
Brad Beal Elite- 16U went 3-1 losing a nail bitter to Illinois Bears to advance to the semifinals of the Three Stripes Alliance. 15U went 3-1 losing to Gateway Basketball Club in the semifinals. Both teams will look to finish strong and bounce back this weekend. 16U Caleb Love one of the top bucket-getters from the past weekend will look to keep that going this weekend. 16U Luke Kasubke will also look to continue his hot shooting from the past weekend.
Hardwood Classic Session II in Lawrence
Starting this Thursday is the Hardwood Classic Session II in Lawrence, KS it features 15U-17U games from Thursday (26th) through Sunday (29th). Games will be played under one roof at the Sports Pavilion Lawrence in Lawerence, KS.
Three Teams to watch for:
MOKAN Elite 16U- MOKAN Elite 16U went a perfect 7-0 last weekend at the Hardwood Classic Session I beating The City Rocks EYBL by 20. They will look to go for back to back Championships. Jonathan Jackson is someone to look out for this weekend who had a great session last weekend.
MOKAN Elite 15U- MOKAN Elite 15U went a perfect 6-0 last weekend at the Hardwood Classic Session I beating Woodz Elite in a close championship game by 3 points. They will look to go for the back to back championship as well. Jackie Johnson who joined MOKAN Elite 15U program for the July period will look to continue to have a another strong weekend. Lonell Lane also had a great showing at the Hardwood Classic Session I and will look to continue to build on that success this weekend.
Iowa Barnstormers- 17U Gold will look to rebound after a very tough week at the Adidas Summer Championships going 0-4. The 16U gold had a good showing at the Adidas Summer Championships going 4-1. 17U silver won the Summer Classic in Minnesota. There 15U team also had a good weekend at the Summer Classic making it the to the championship game. Over the weekend 2019 guard Jake Hilmer picked up offers from St. Cloud State and Quincy University. Class of 2019 players Keggan Murray & Kris Murray picked up offers from Truman State University and Upper Iowa University over the weekend. Lastly 2020 guard Donovan Williams picked up offers from University of South Dakota and University of Bradley.
