Peach State Summer Showcase : Day 2 Palmetto Performers
Prep Hoops took in the action from Day 2 at the Peach State Summer Showcase. Lets see some of the top performers from the Palmetto State.
Javon Benson (2020) – Ridge View HS – Carolina Wolves 16
Benson has the ability to really be a player when he figures it out at times. Benson sat out last year at Ridge View HS after making the move over from Westwood HS. Benson 6’7 has great length and moves well on the floor. Benson finishes around the cup at a high percentage. Prep Hoops saw him in the morning session in which the Carolina Wolves 16 lost to the Alabama Celtics. Benson finished the game with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Jamean Muldrow (2020) – Darlington HS – Team Wall Southeast-Marion 2020
Muldrow has a great nose for the ball. Muldrow 6’0 left-handed guard uses body well to fight off defenders. Muldrow is not afraid to mix it up on the floor and the glass. Muldrow always seems to be in the right position on the floor.
Mac Washington (2021) – Marion HS – Team Wall Southeast-Marion 2021 (pictured on front)
Washington brings constant EFFORT he touches the floor. Washington a off guard will really defend on the ball nd isn’t afraid to take a charge. Washington connected on a few three pointers from behind the arch on his way to 13 points.
Umar Lawson (2021) – Laurence Manning Academy – Team Wall Southeast-Marion (2021)
Lawson a left-handed guard really exploded at the Prep Hoops Series 3 in Myrtle Beach, SC back in May with then playing with 3 Ball Elite. Lawson will play this coming season at Laurence Manning Academy in Manning, SC for Head Coach Will Epps after attending Lakewood HS last season.
Lawson has the ability to score the ball while attacking the basket or hitting the baseline jumper. Lawson likes to have he ball in his hands and has a scorer’s mentality on the floor.
