Unknown and Unranked : National Travel Basketball Association
Prep Hoops took in the action today from the NTBA (National Travel Basketball Association) National Championships in Myrtle Beach, SC. The event is being held at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center which features 8 courts. Lets take a look at some you might not be aware of throughout the Palmetto State in this article.
Avern Montague (2019) – Hilton Head Prep – Bluffton Bulls
Montague was very intriguing today playing for the Bluffton Bulls. Montague 6’4 is a very rangy forward with a decent skill set. Montague has good length in the passing lanes and seems to like the ball in his hands. Montague 6’4 started off his career at nearby May River HS before coming over to Hilton Head Prep.
Marcus Moore (2019) – Socastee HS – Confidence Cougars 17U (pictured on front)
Moore 6’7 is a late bloomer for the Braves. Moore runs the floor very well and stays in the paint to battle. Moore filled the lane on a handful of occasions today and flushed one basket home with a dunk. Moore always seems to keep his feet moving while on defense while staying active. Moore has really gathered a lot of confidence in the past few months with his play.
Moore has good length and has the ability to alter and challenge shots on the defensive end. Moore is a very coachable young man on the floor. Moore could have a break-out year for the Socastee HS Braves.
Deshawn Martin (2019) – May River HS (Bluffton) – Bluffton Bulls
Martin 5’10 was quick to the basket for the Bulls. Martin has great speed end to end on the floor. Martin got all of his baskets while attacking the rack. Martin showed some good sparks this season for the Sharks. May River HS is located in the Lowcountry near Hilton Head.
