Nike Summer Championship: 2020 Stock Risers
The Class of 2020 had several players see their stock rise after strong performances Saturday. Time will tell how far these guys stock will rise, as they have plenty of time to improve considering they are only juniors. Here are our 4 top stock risers from Saturday’s action.
Chase Toppin- 6’1 PG- St. Ignatius (OH)/ TNBA Ohio
Toppin (PHO #86 2020) demonstrated himself to be one of the top sharpshooters present on Saturday. We were especially impressed with his defensive skillset, as we saw Toppin not afraid to contest shots defensively at the rim. He possesses a great vertical leap for a guard and we look forward to seeing what he can do going forward.
Deon Key- 6’5 PF- Toledo Springfield (OH)/All Ohio Gold
Key (PHO #128 2020) was a difference maker on the defensive end which impressed us about his style of play. His length and athleticism allowed him to disrupt passing lanes in AOG’s win against Queen City Prophets. In addition to his defense, Deon demonstrated a strong ability to score in traffic and finish with multiple defenders on him. He is arguably the top stock riser in the Class of 2020 for Saturday.
Garret White- 6’8 PF- Maumee (OH)/All Ohio Gold
White (PHO #129 2020) was most impressive Saturday on the defensive end. He communicated well especially on switches and hedging screens. He especially showed great defensive skill while defending the post, fighting to get in front and deny the pass. He showed his ability to play the 5 spot as well as the 4 and should see his stock rise more because of this versatility.
Tevin Jackson- 5’10 PG- Cleveland Central Catholic (OH)/ TNBA Ohio
Tevin (PHO #68 2020) was one of the most impressive guards to see play on Saturday. He showed great decision making skills with the ball in hand; and created great opportunities for teammates with his passing. We especially liked Jackson’s ability to get into the lane on the dribble drive and kick. This is especially useful for his TNBA teammates as he has Deshaun Nettles (2019) to dump off to in the paint or Chase Toppin on the perimete
