NC’s Top High Flyers
Word of God 2019 Forward CK Everett: In my opinion and the opinion of many others in the state, he is the highest jumper without a doubt. This year he was named a State Champion in track and field in the high jump and all it takes is watching him on the court for a few moments to see all of what he can do.
Brewster Academy & NY Rens Jalen Lecque: He made the move to Brewster Academy last night but during his time at Christ School, he put together some ridiculous performances. He picked up the nickname ‘‘Baby Westbrook’’ due to how high of a flyer he is and his ability to throw down monster dunks.
Broughton HS 2019 Guard Dj Thomas: He clearly is the smallest player on this list but he plays with a ton of heart and comes up big when his team needs him to. At the end of June we got the chance to see him during the Triangle Challenge Championship game and he put on a show using his athletic gift and scoring ability. JUCO programs should be keeping a very close eye on DJ over the next year as that could be the route he takes.
Team Loaded & Walkertown 2020 Guard Jalen Cone: We haven’t got an official read on his vertical but by our estimation he has to be in the 40 inch vertical range. He is not the tallest player by any means but that skillset he has makes up for any height that he may lack. He’s picked up interest and offers from D1 programs and is on track for another outstanding season during his junior year.
Team Loaded & Greensboro Day 2021 Guard Carson McCorkle: He has been throwing down dunks for some years now and looks to have fit right in to his role at GDS last season. With the departure of some seniors we look for him to have an outstanding season as he will be called on even ore to step up and produce.
Hunt HS 2018 Guard Jeremiah Ganaway: Another player that has outstanding athleticism, he can make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor with finishes and blocked shots. He will be taking the JC route next year and will be a player that four year programs will want to be watching closely over the next two years.
