The young Michigan Warriors traveled to Louisville and didn’t disappoint.
The Michigan Warriors team showed an unmatched mental toughness in the 15u field. Even after a tough loss at the buzzer in overtime during pool play, the team stayed hungry and focused. It was clear that Coach Weaver had his athletes ready for the All In Hoopfest. Nobody could be seen hanging their head in frustration. The disciplined Michigan Warriors team responded. They battled through pool play coming up with hard fought wins.
In bracket play, the Michigan Warriors 15u team rolled to an All In Hoopfest Championship, including an overtime win in the title game. Quite simply, they were tougher both mentally and physically, than the competition. The Michigan Warriors used versatility, athleticism, and discipline to come out on top of the event. They had players who contributed in multiple ways and were threats from anywhere on the court. The Michigan Warriors also had athletes who made big time plays against the competition. Coach Weaver brought a squad that responded to his coaching, stayed confident, and looked to win as a team.
TOP PERFORMERS
Verian Patrick
Patrick is a young prospect with a very high ceiling. He’s an excellent athlete on the wing. Patrick scored and defended well at the All In Hoopfest. He had 17 points in the championship game.
Jhaiden Wilson
Wilson was a beast at the All In Hoopfest. He hit two clutch threes in the title game and multiple 20 point games. Wilson was a bucket getter all weekend.
Tarron Carter
Carter quietly turned heads last weekend at the All In Hoopfest. He was a do-it-all athlete for the Michigan Warriors. In the championship game, Carter grabbed clutch rebounds and dished out big assists.
