Last Live Period: 2018 Prospects
While many college coaches are on the hunt for 2019 prospects, there are a number of 2018 prospects still on the board who will be playing in the last live period in Las Vegas. All of the below prospects are guys that are more than able to play at some level of college basketball. For schools who are looking for last minute signees, below are a handful of quality ones.
Last Live Period: 2018 Prospects
Dhol Majak 6’10 C Ironwood (AZ Hype)
Majak is most likely off to the JUCO ranks as a number of JUCOs have demonstrated that they are quite interested in the upside of the 6’10 prospect. While at Ironwood, he demonstrated that he is a capable shooter and rim protector but that he is far from a finished product. However, if Majak finds the right fit, his ceiling is really high.
Cedric Bridges 6’6 PF Westview (Factory)
While Bridges is more than likely heading to a prep school, he might have impressed me more than any prospect I have watched this July due to his insane athleticism and ability to finish around the rim. It seems like he cannot miss if he is within 5 feet of the hoops, regardless of how good the defense is.
Bryce Davis 6’8 PF Deer Valley (Compton Magic Select)
Davis has a lot of NCAA D2 and NAIA D1 as well as JUCO interest, but he is holding out in hopes of an NCAA Division-I taking a shot on him. After the type of senior year he had, it is intriguing that no one has taken a bite as he is versatile with a good jump shot and solid footwork around the rim.
Wesley Harris 6’6 PF Desert Vista (Compton Magic Select)
Harris is a tremendous athlete with a lot of upside. There are some gaps in his game that have made some coaches question his effectiveness at the next level. With that said, his uncoachables are solid and he plays hard. Harris has a high ceiling and is worth a shot from a number of schools at the next level.
Josh Johnson 5’7 PG Maricopa (Team Zona)
Johnson is one of the most elusive guards in the class of 2019. He gets into the paint at will and can shoot it from deep as well as any prospect in the state. The biggest question regarding him seems to be his height. However, against high level competition with Team Zona, Johnson has demonstrated that he can play with anyone regardless of his size.
Donovan Reagan 6’5 SG/SF Fairfax (Team Zona)
Reagan is extremely versatile and has demonstrated that he can score the basketball at a high level against quality competition. He seemingly carried Fairfax to the Elite 8 of the state tournament and has shown that same ability on the national level. Reagan has a lot of interest at the JUCO level.
Ajang Aguek 6’8 SF/PF Ironwood (Factory)
Aguek has received interest from NCAA Division-Is, but due to being a late bloomer, it might be too late for him to sign as a 2018. This past weekend, he nearly averaged a double-double while taking less than 30 dribbles in 5 games. He plays with a tremendous motor and does all of the little things that coaches want. In addition to cleaning up the glass and scoring the ball at a high level despite limited touches, he took 10 charges as well. He has as high of a ceiling as anyone on this list.
Tyrese Eugene 6’0 PG Ironwood (Factory)
Eugene is an elite on ball defender. He makes the opposing guards uncomfortable as he is able to pick up full court. Further, he has a college ready body and great quickness. He has struggled with finishing around the rim due to opposing team’s length, but he is a good passer.
