Kansas Live Period Recruiting Updates (2019)
While we still have a big weekend coming up, the July live period has already been fruitful for a lot of 2019 prospects in the state of Kansas. Lets look at some recruiting updates from around the state.
Christian Braun (Blue Valley Northwest)- Mokan Elite 17U
Christian’s stock is like a hot air balloon, steadily rising and rising and rising. This week he has picked up offers from Wake Forest, DePaul, and Kansas State. Watch for more high major offers to come this week.
Jacob Coleman (Basehor-Linwood)- Mokan Select 17U
Jacob picked up his first offer this week from Pittsburg State University which should and probably will speed things up with other Division II schools that have been watching Jacob.
He has been hearing from a number of other schools including Rockhurst University, Maryville University (MO), Air Force Academy, Emporia State University, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and Missouri Western State University.
Jevaughn Ferguson (Sunrise Christian Select)- Mokan Select 17U
Jevaughn is one of the more underrated big men in the state of Kansas who originally comes from the Bahamas. He has previously been in contact with MidAmerica Nazarene and has heard from the University of Chicago, Goshen College, and Purdue Northwest so far in July.
Nic Zeil (Park Hill)- KC Pacers Blue 17U
While technically just across the Kansas border, Nic plays a lot of his summer ball in Kansas. He is planning on attending the Cornell University Elite Camp as he has been in contact with them this summer. He has also heard from Truman State, Chicago University, Emporia State, and Rockhurst University as well.
Jaden Okon (Wichita Heights)- NLHA 17U
Jaden picked up his first offer this week from Washburn University. He has put together a nice July so far and has also heard from Omaha-Nebraska, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Air Force, and Drury as of now.
Keyon Thomas (Bonner Springs)- KC Spurs Black 17U
Keyon has played really well this summer but has not seen any schools pull the trigger just yet on him. He has been in contact with Lehigh University on and off in 2018 and recently Nebraska-Omaha has gotten into the mix as well.
Jun Murdock (Wichita Southeast)- River City Blue 17U
The PG with a rich family tradition of college hoops is poised to follow in the same path as he has heard from Sam Houston State, Ft. Scott, Newman, and Hutchinson CC.
Dyelan Reed (Concordia)- SSA Elite Black 17U
Dyelan recently went out to Concordia University’s camp as they have expressed interest along with Bethel. I would imagine that more KCAC schools will come knocking as the summer progresses.
Kael Kordonowy (Maize South)- River City Blue 17U
Kael is one of best bigs the state has to offer and excels not only on the court but in the classroom as well. He has picked up interest from MIT, Stanford, Cornell, North Eastern, and Newman University as well.
AJ Dickerson (Junction City)- SSA Elite Black 17U
AJ is an athletic, productive guard who has contributed to SSA’s success this summer. He has been drawing interest from a handful of schools including Rockhurst University, MidAmerica Nazarene, and Drury University.
Keenan Miller (Wichita South)- River City Blue 17U
Keenan is still relatively new to the Kansas basketball scene after last year was his first year playing in the state after coming from the Columbia, Missouri area. He has gotten some July live period interest as Washburn, Newman, Ft. Scott, North Eastern, and Central Oklahoma have all expressed interest.
Trey Duffey (Topeka-Seaman)- SSA Elite Black 17U
Trey’s name has been bounced around small-school circles all Spring and Summer. The latest to get into the conversation is Bethel University (KS). He would be a steal for any KCAC school needing a versatile prospect and great young man.
Nolan Veenis (Maize South)- River City Blue 17U
As Nolan returns to full strength, he will continue to get back his explosiveness and athleticism after his ACL injury. Over the past week Nolan has heard from Newman and MIT.
Izaiah Hale (Wichita Heights)- River City Blue 17U
Izaiah does his job and does it well as I would imagine things will begin to pick up a bit for him in the realm of recruiting. He has only heard from Ft. Scott this July but is gearing up for a big senior year at Heights.
Levi Braun (Hayden)- SSA Elite Black 17U
Levi has an offer that was extended from Washburn University earlier this Spring and New York University and Colby University have gotten into the mix this past week as well.
Caleb Grill (Maize)- NLHA 17U
Caleb has had a monster spring and summer and this live period has been fruitful as well. He has picked up offers from Nebraska and Southern Illinois and there’s word out that Wichita State, Kansas State, SMU and Texas Tech will be watching this weekend.
