July Recruiting Recap: Dan McKeeman (2019)
Dan McKeeman
5’10 | PG | 2019
Fort Wayne Carroll (IN) | Indy Heat 2019 Red
Offers: Grace College, Huntington University
Where His Recruitment Is At: Things are still pretty early for Dan but the pair of offers, Grace and Huntington, are going to be a catalyst likely for things. He’s a smaller guard but passes well and shoots it at a high level. Coaches will want that and it won’t be surprising if he picks up some more Crossroad League offers. He’s drawn enough interest from all levels, these two offers will be the starting point. Could see some DII programs take a harder look these last two weeks, namely GLIAC or GMAC schools. Would imagine most of his recruiting interest will take place during the July periods, rather than this Fall and high school season.
Scouting Report: Dan is a smaller guard but has the build and toughness to play at a higher level. He has two really good skills, passing and shooting. He sees the floor really well and can be a great set-up guy. Pair that with his above average perimeter jumper and you have a really solid lead guard option who should allow an offense to grow while he still is able to get his own offensively. Will give up some defensively but you can pair him with a longer guard that loves to slash and drive to balance things out a bit. Has the handles and can drive himself, but will fall more into a shooter as he’s very efficient and difficult to stop with a quick release and range.
