JAYHAWK: Kansas’ Stock Riers (Wings)
Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several top performers in Lawrence.
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The 2018 Jayhawk Summer Finale completed play on Sunday with a host of standout performances.
Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the premier players and performances from Kansas’ talent.
10 — Jack Chapman, 6’5, G, 2021, Blue Valley Northwest, KC Run GMC 15U
Chapman plays with a unique aggressiveness that is hard to ignore. He is in constant attack mode and just makes things happen. At the offensive end of the floor, he has a well-rounded skill set and does a little bit of everything, whether it is handling the ball, passing or creating offense. He shoots it well from the outside and has good size for a wing.
4 — Brandon Eckles, 6’5, F, 2021, Olathe South, KC Run GMC 15U
Eckles was at Barstow in Kansas City, Mo., last year and was a big part of its varsity a year ago, but has since transferred to Olathe South. He has good size and a well-rounded skill set for a big man and brings some defensive versatility to the floor as he is big enough to defend opposing forwards, but athletic enough to switch out and guard on the perimeter some as well. Eckles is most comfortable at the offensive end of the floor in the paint, but has some skill and the ability to face up and play on the perimeter.
7 — Parker Hill, 6’3, F, 2021, Blue Valley, JC Hoops 15U
Hill brings a versatile, well-rounded skill set to the floor with an inside-out game. He has a good feel for passing the ball, can handle it on the perimeter a little and is a willing rebounder at both ends of the floor.
13 — Thomas King, 6’4, G, 2020, King’s Christian, NLHA 16U Gaddis
King continues to impress this July with a well-rounded skill set and terrific athleticism. He handles it well, can create off the bounce a little and runs the floor exceptionally well in transition. King has the ability to play above the rim and throw down slams in transition, rebounds well and has a good combination of skill, size and athleticism.
