Georgia July Live Period Watch Pt. 3
Atlanta, GA – Check out Part 3 of the Georiga July Live Period players to keep an eye on this month.
2020 shooting guard Anthony Edwards – Holy Spirit Prep / Atlanta Express 17U
Besides Sharife Cooper, I do not believe anyone else has had a huge boost this spring like Anthony Edwards in the state of Georgia. Anthony Edwards has jumped tremendously in the national rankings and spotlight and who is currently ranked #13 according to ESPN in his class. Edwards will be one of the main prospects to watch this July by college coaches and scouts. He is a pure threat scoring the basketball and can get hot very quickly. He does not necessarily have an all around game just yet but it is certainly close. Anthony is an athletic two-guard with James Harden like abilities when he has the rock. He can take his man off the dribble and also score with his jump shot no matter where he is on the floor. Edwards already holds offers from schools like Florida State, Auburn, Clemson, and more.
2019 shooting guard Marcus Watson – Buford High School / Atlanta Celtics 17U
Marcus Watson out of Buford, GA is one to keep an eye on during this July live period. After running with the Georgia Stars for a couple of months on the Nike EYBL circuit, Marcus will be running with the Atlanta Celtics for the remainder of the AAU season. Watson sits at 6’6 and is a powerful shooting guard or can also be characterized as a forward. The rising senior will be looking to raise his stock even more in his last month of AAU basketball. Marcus is definitely a scoring threat on offense as he can connect on jump shots and use that strong and powerful body of his to make a play in the painted area. Already holding offers from schools like Xavier, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, and more, Watson looks to receive even more D1 offers during the July live period.
2020 wing Brandon Boston – Norcross High School / AOT 17U
Without question, rising junior Brandon Boston has had one of the best spring AAU circuits this year regardless of class. Boston will certainly have the college coaches and scouts seats filled to the max this July period beginning with the Nike Peach Jam. He is a 6’6 lengthy wing who is a elite shooter on the perimeter. He is able to spread the defense with his deadly shooting and can make an impact without the ball in his hands as well. Brandon can create and make plays for his team by slashing to the rim or just getting to the right spot on the floor. He is a huge part of AOT’s success this summer and like his teammates, Sharife Cooper and Isaac Okoro, he will be looking to bring home that Peach Jam title. Brandon is coming off three recents visits with Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Duke in late June and holds multiple D1 offers already.
2020 forward Ebenezer Dowuona – Heritage School / Game Elite (FL) 16U
Ebenezer Dowuona out of Heritage High School in Newnan, GA has been one of the sleeper prospects in my eyes so far this AAU season. He is a 6’9 forward with very long arms and has the skill sets to finish around the rim. He is an elite rebounder and can also protect the rim on the defensive end. Ebenezer already has a few D1 offers from schools like Missouri, Kansas State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. He has also recently took a visit to Clemson earlier this summer in early June. Dowuona will definitely be looking to raise his stock in his class and also add to those list of offers. He will be running with Game Elite (FL) 16U this July live period and college coaches should be in contact with him as soon as possible.
2021 forward Cole Middleton – Pace Academy / HYPE Hawks 15U
Cole Middleton has been one of the most improved prospects we have witnessed in Georgia. Standing at 6’5, Cole might be undersized as of right now for the power forward position but his athleticism and boucing ability makes up for his size. Only a rising sophomore, Cole is a very athletic forward who can impact the glass on offense and defense. He is a great rim runner and has the ability to finish around the basket. Middleton could be receiving high level interest after this month and going into his sophomore campaign at Pace.
