Georgia July Live Period Watch Pt. 2
Atlanta, GA – Check out Part 2 of the Georiga July Live Period players to keep an eye on this month.
2019 forward Isaac Okoro – McEachern High School / Athletes of Tomorrow
Currently playing with the USA U17 national team in Santa Fe, Argentina, Isaac Okoro is one of the major top prospects we have here in the state of Georgia. Okoro has had a stock rising spring and where he participated, not just with team USA, but also in the famous Pangos All American camp in early June. The rising senior should be receiving a plethora of offers this July playing in the Nike EYBL Peach Jam tournament and more. Isaac is a very strong forward who is looking to attacking the rim when he has possession of the ball. He has improved offensively over the last few months and now has a jumper that cannot go unoticed. College coaches and scouts will be lining up to see Mr. Okoro in action this July and that should not be a surprise. Isaac already holds multiple D1 offers in Oregon, Virginia, Alabama, NC State, Clemson, Cincinnati, and more.
2021 guard Garrison Powell – Holy Innocents School / Team Tuff
If you have not heard of Garrison Powell as of yet then you might want to go find out who this kid actual is. He is a good solid two guard with incredible size for a guard and he is only a rising sophomore. Garrison’s body frame makes him an intriguing prospect who has exciting upside and that can be a huge name in the peach state in the near future. Powell can score in bunches, scoring inside and out and is also able to put the ball on the floor and take his opponent to the hole in at least three dribbles or less. He is also a solid defender who is locked in and engaged on defense. With his fantastic size, Powell is able to keep his opponents in front of him. He already holds offers from Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee, and Mississippi State with interest from Georgia, Tennessee, and South Florida. Garrison will be playing with Hypesouth in the Battle of Georgia this weekend but will be running with Team Tuff for the remainder of July.
2019 point guard Quinton McElroy – McEachern High School / AOT
One of the most slept on and under the radar prospects I have been able to witness the last couple of years is Quinton McElroy. The 6’1 point guard has great IQ and court awarness when he is on the floor. He is a crafty lefty that can also create his own shot and knock down his three pointers from behind the arc. Playing behind top ranked guys in Sharife Cooper, Isaac Okoro, and Brandon Boston, Quinton does not really get as much recognition he deserves. No worries, his game never goes unoticed, as he is a big piece to the success of McEachern and Athletes of Tomorrow. Quinton will be playing an even bigger role in this upcoming high school season and his AAU squad, AOT, will also need him to play significant minutes if they want to capture a Peach Jam title.
2020 guard Dwon Odom – Saint Francis / Atlanta Celtics 16U
Dwon Odom is a super athletic guard out of Saint Francis, same school as former Georgia standouts in Kobi Simmons, Malik Beasley, and Kasier Gates, who is looking to receive even more looks during the July live period. Odom is one of the top interesting prospects to be on the lookout for regardless of class here in the state of Georgia. Dwon is a tough and strong combo guard who can play off ball and on ball at the point guard position. He can create his own shot off the dribble but his main attribute is making his way to the basket. Dwon’s athleticism helps get to the rim at times in 2-3 dribbles. He is super bouncy and holds a few of Russell Westbrook and/or Dennis Smith Jr type strengths. Dwon recently received an offer from Xavier but also holds offers from other D1 schools.
2020 shooting guard Jamaine Mann – Starrs Mill / Atlanta Express 16U
Jamaine Mann is one of the few sleepers we have in the state of Georgia currently. Mann will be transferring from Eagles Landing to Starrs Mill High School. He is the little brother of former Georgia University guard Charles Mann. Jamaine is one of the best scoring guards in the 2020 class in the peach state. He can make his way to the cup with ease and is also a shot creator. He holds a very tough pull up jumper and has great size at the guard position. Mann has a nice body frame which assists him on the glass as well for a guard and helps him body his opponents. Jamaine will be running with the Atlanta Express 16U squad this July.
