Game Overview: Powerhouse Dynasty 15U
This weekend is jam packed with high caliber basketball, whether it’s at the Las Vegas Classic (Bigfoot) or the Fab 48 Tournament. Powerhouse Dynasty 15U has been on an absolute tear this summer, easily beating opponents around 20 points on average. Powerhouse Dynasty 15U is led by their top two guards, D’Marco Dunn (Marana) and Jason Elder (Cienaga). However, the team also has some nice pieces in Kannon Jewel (Ironwood Ridge) and Jack Allard (Ironwood Ridge).
Location: Fab 48 (Las Vegas High School)
Opponent: Gamepoint 15U Black
Powerhouse Dynasty wasted no time turning the pressure up as soon as the game started. Their full-court press is very tough due to the length and athleticism of Dunn and Elder. On the flip side, they have no problem breaking team’s press, once again due to Dunn and Elder being solid with the ball and being able to see over defenders.
Dunn showed out with an impressive 19 points, 4 steals, and 6 rebounds. D’Marco is a pure scoring guard, although he does have the ability to run an offense and get his teammates open looks. Powerhouse Dynasty 15U prefers to use him as a 2 guard, which is probably his best fit going forward.
Elder has the most all-around game and he proved that in this game. Jason had an impressive stat line with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal.
Jewel had a solid game offensively, with 10 points and 3 assists. However, it was his efforts on defense that impressed. Kannon turned in 4 steals, 2 blocks, and gathered 7 boards.
Allard is a pure point guard, not even taking a single shot in this game. However, he did a tremendous job running the offense, getting them into their sets, controlling the tempo, and getting his teammates open looks. Jack turned in 8 assists as well as 2 steals.
Final score 62-40 Powerhouse Dynasty 15U
