There were many college basketball prospects on hand at the Big Shots “Charlotte Live” event at Carolina Courts in Indian Land, North Carolina last weekend. It was an excellent opportunity for all of the players on the numerous teams to be seen by the numerous college coaches on hand in the second of the three “Live Period” weekends this month.
There was a large host of college basketball coaches on hand to get an eyeful of the talent on hand.
Here are some of the top forward prospects from Big Shots “Charlotte Live”.
Greg Gantt, of Team Felton, was one of the most watched prospects at the Big Shots “Charlotte Live” event last weekend at Carolina Courts in Indian Land, North Carolina. The rising senior forward from Fayetteville, North Carolina has 30, or more offers, many of which are from High Major programs. Gantt can guard 3-4 positions and he’s just as versatile on offense.
DeAngelo Epps, of Team Charlotte, is an athletic combo forward, with good strength, who plays with the maximum effort and aggressiveness that coaches love. He’s very good on defense and he plays big on the boards, plus he has an ever improving mid-range jump shot.
Matt Smith is another of Team Charlotte’s talented forwards. He is a strong and athletic combo forward, who excels both on defense and on the boards. He also can step out and hit the mid-range jumper. He was a key performer for his Independence High School team that won the North Carolina 4A State Championship this past season.
Paul Hudson is a long armed, lefty forward, with solid game and excellent vertical leaping ability. I’ve seen this young man playing with the Charlotte Dragons for 3-4 years and he continues to get better and better. He’s a very good rebounder and he blocks more than his share of shots. He has good touch from mid range and he plays with heart.
